Why do you keep deleting threads because some troll idiot tells you to? Do you even look at them and check? And why do you allow spammers to run amok for a whole day without doing anything about it? This sort of thing should be taken care of in minutes -- it is on every other website. And also... why are you so against letting some long standing members with site-wide respect be moderators to help you with cleaning up this forum? I just don't get it. After all, you would have the final say on anything we do. Will your boss somehow think less of you and accuse you of not doing your job (which you aren't by the way) because you enlist a few respected members to help you? I have been the admin of similar websites to this and I always had at least 6-7 very capable moderators assisting me. There are probably a hundred+ members that can vouch for my credibility... how about you?
Trying to run this site alone is just beyond my comprehension. And also, why do you ban so many words? Are you some sort of Christian Fundamentalist that cannot stand the impurification of your people? As far as I can tell we are all adults here and we don't have any problem with curse words. Man up.
Oh but wait..... we don't even know who you are. Mystery Admin Man.... so mysterious and cool
I truly don't understand the "one man crew" mentality here, because it is obviously failing. Name even one other website that has as much traffic as this one does that has such a negligent, sluggish and seemingly invisible admin staff (of one) running it. Link us to this phantom site please because we want to witness it. And maybe while you're at it you could enlighten us to how this keeps going on for so long unchecked? Does the owner have a secret hideaway in Barbados? This is truly pathetic behavior for a website worth almost $300,000 that has a daily ad revenue of over $400. Delete this thread too if feel the need, but you can't sweep everything under the rug forever. Go ahead and ban me too for speaking out if it makes you feel like a real man. I am going to post this in the subwoofer section for everyone to see by the way, delete that too if you must. This website has far too many issues to be fixed by one person and if you can't see that, then we will bring it to the attention of your "boss". We demand that you appoint moderators and you would be well advised to do so.
brad you need to cut the admin some slack. i am sure he is doing everything possible to run this forum as smoothly as possible. its not easy running a forum. its alot of work. especially if the forum has alot of topic sections. so rather than complaining, you should be telling the admin to keep up the good work.
i hope thats a joke chad. like brad said all we need is a few mods like you brad and paul or something. there is alot of spam and just crap on here everyday and the regular members dont deserve to deal with it when its an easy problem to fix.
Regarding the complaint post, the wording may have been a bit crass, but the message is 100% accurate.
Chad I'm sorry but I adamantly disagree with you on this one. Everything possible is NOT being done, that's the point. It's asinine to try to run this thing as a one man operation, and there is no reasonable explanation for why it would be kept that way.
This isn't some rinky dink, little, low-traffic website. It's like walking into circuit city to find there is only one employee working at the time. That would NEVER happen. It's ridiculous.
From my knowledge Brian is the founder and sole owner of Ecoustics. Is this his only venture? Maybe not. I doubt he sits in front of a pc all day tending to E. Is he afraid of member mods casting a shadow over an otherwise "neutral" forum? We know what can happen over on ca.com.
The key is to find the right members who won't threaten the integrity of this site. No favoritisms or special treatment of any kind. Have you guys noticed how colorless the admin's responses can be? I would think he would prefer it left that way in even any member mods if he ever decided to grant that. Just a guess.
At the very least the ability to remove spam would be helpful. They're easy to spot and can riddle the forum. Google hits aside, spam only aggravates the very members who frequent and enjoy this place. Why not give us THAT power?
I applaud Brad and even he knows this has been brought up many times in the past with no resolve. It is what it is. We have a voice, just no vote.
