its not made too... but.. thats how my subs come... looks like ill have it at .5 ohms. some people do it... hope it doesn't explode... hope it last long time and has no problems
seems like a bad idea to me. prolly work for a while but you do realize that the power output is going to jump right? i think it will double? I could be wrong about that? but im sure it would go up! i mean less resistance = more power! Sound like you need new subs. What are you running? All I can say is good luck!!!
Let him do it guys. I see a question about running an AQ amp at .5 every week. Now if this blows up, we actually know the answer and can use it as an example
dj said "well i know a lot of people that run it at .5ohms and it has not had any problems, but dont tell any one i said that because they wont be under warranty and they might start smokin"
thats not word for word.. but he said something like that followed by ull be alright with .5 ohms
I do not recommend any amp be run below its rated stability. With that said some endusers report using the AQ2200D below 1 ohm with no problems but who knows what actual impedance the amp is receiving.
If you run one of our amps below its rated stability you do it at your own risk. You will not be covered under warranty.
We build our amps with the very best parts and do everything we can with the protection circuits to protect the amp but the amps are designed for 1 ohm stability.
Each time you run an amp at ACTUAL ohm loads BELOW its rated stability you place stress on the amp it was not designed to handle.
Amps usually fail when the enduser is operating the amp within its design limits and the first thing companies hear from the enduser is "My amp just quit and I wasn't doing anything wrong". You might compare that to the obese smoker with years of abusing his body having a heart attack while sleeping.
