How to Go about sponsorship?

Hey guys, i am interested in getting a company to sponsor them, a while back people said, it would help if youve won competitions, i won one last month would that help me a bit? can anyone give me any tips, and does anyone know any companys that would possibly want some advertising up in ontario canada, and willing to sponsor, all feedback and comments would be appreciated...

well ask yourself this. if you owned an audio company, would you sponsor you? what benefit can you bring to that audio company?

He is right. Companies don't sponsor you just because you want them too. They want advertising in return. Most sposorship contracts state you must attend so many competitions over a certain period of time.
This most likely means you will be driving hundreds of miles every month to attend competitions.
Thats not an easy sacrifice to make.

best way to go about it is to enter as much comps as you can and put up some impressive numbers. try to atten the world finals or comps in that caliber. if you do well then maybe the companies will ask you.

as far as local shops, it will be kinda hard cause most shops would rather make a demo car rather than sponsor a local person.

Make a name for yourself over the next few seasons.

-Be helpful.
-Get on w/ some well knows competitors.
-Join/start a team.
-Set some world records.
-Win at finals.

3-4 years of that, then you may have a chance at a sponsor. :-)
