So just got done building my first box....Its holding 2 15in Hx2 punchs....I looked up the specs Fosgate gives and built it from them.... 2 4 by 8 in ports.. 5.53 cubic feet total...In a 2002 eclipse...

The problem is i get a lot of port noise....and really peaky response....does not hit low at all ....

Any one got any ideas?.... Im stumped

i really don't see a problem there.. you sure that the calculations were good b4 building enclosure.. should sound alright if specs are correct.. 35 hz(if actual tuning" is a tad bit high imo to hit the LOWS clean.. but should be better than "not hitting lows at all" what box calculator did u use?

I used the one on fosgates website...also used a few others, been planing this box for a while.....My subs are face up and so are my ports...this was the only way to get it in my trunk...I was thinking this could be part of my problem....

too little port area per cuft - try using slot port & their max rec spec which is 4cuft ...it will SLAM ! ....

on 2nd thought instead of building a new box u can try some 4" aeroports 1st - should ease up on port noise ...

its a hatch...a bigger box isnt really an option unless i remove my back seats...as it is i only have about a 4in gap between my seats and the box....no room to move up either....ill try picking up some aeorports.....kinda hard to get around here though.....
