I have a factory CD player in my new truck. It has 6x9's in the front & 6 1/2's in the rear. I have already changed the 6x9's to Boston Acoustics NX97. They sound really good, rated for 12-200 wts. However, I want to know which to do first to give an even better sound: add a small amp or change head unit to one w/ an EQ built in (like a pioneer). I like good, clean sound, but a lil' bass as well. Thanks for any help I can get.

Most of the aftermaket head units have stronger than stock amps in them and some have EQs.
My vote - Head unit.
