I had tcabs made for the older versions and i thought they were 350 rms... and i see the new ones are 250 rms.. i may be wrong just tell me if i am. Just wondering if it would be ok to use the same boxes made for the older ones. thx
mark's designs may be vehicle specific....the only other variable would be if the thiel small specs are alot different....if they arent your ok but if they are its luck of the draw....a change in vehicle may or may not affect much....bottom line try it on progressive amounts of clicks on the head unit and see how it sounds....amplifier gains set correctly of course
Yes, the old version was rated at 350RMS, but has a "recommended" RMS of 250, which is extremely conservative. Here are the TS parameters of both 12's.
Old:
Znom 4 ohms BL 12.3 n/a Re 3.5 ohms Sd 480 cm2 Fs 23.1 Hz Mms 122 g Vas 128 L Xmax 15.5 mm Qms 4.00 Spl 87.8 dB 1W/1M Qes .41 Rec. Power 250 W Qts .372 Rms 350W Le 3 mH
I would agree yes and yes....after running the specs and some guess work on tuning I think they will perform similar in your old box....let us know how it turns out
