MDF Cut layout Calc FTMFW.

Spend about a halfassed hour trying to figure out how to get all my pieces from a single 4x8 sheet. I was getting ready to cut little pieces of paper out and stick them to graph paper, lol.. Instead I gave up. So today i dl a program, and in like 5 minutes...  What a time saver. I still had to do a manual layout, as the program couldnt figure it out. measurements were deleted to protect the design. |

Most one and done box builders will appreciated that program because it maximizes the sheets' surface and saves them from buying more than they need. Box builders like yourself have scraps from previous jobs that you continually use on future projects, and you know this so maximizing the sheet isn't as important to you. I like having scraps of just about any kind of wood product, just like hardware. Someday I know I'll need it. |

Silver Member Username: Phil_salisburyPost Number: 686 Registered: Sep-06 | I don't bother because I been doing this for so d@mn long, I can figure it out in my head what is the best method for cutting materials to get the most gain per sheet and what fall offs I can use for the next project. While program is good to use to gain the most from the material, especially if the concern not waste more than what is absolutely required, sure, it makes sense to use such a program. But, for the ease of accuracy and time savings as to the progression of the cuts being made, it matter as time and labor spent vs saving a few pennies. But that's just me. |
