regarding your budget....does your budget include money for an amp also, or is it strictly just for speakers? we gotta know this to figure out what will work for you.

Speakers depend on the amp. If it's a 50x2 amp...you wouldn't want to run a component set that takes 200w. So let us know what that amp is.

PS - Did you already buy your W7's? If so how much did you pay for them?

relax man...i'm trying to help you out...but i will quote you from your previous post: "dont worry about the amp thats taken care of" ...now you see why i asked what amp you're using?

There's many great options for speakers. If you'd like to look into CDT, I can help you get their top of the line components at a great discount currently. Simply email me at sales@exigeaudio.com if interested. This would be the ES series, and we could tailor the set to fit exactly what you're looking for soundwise.

Other good companies include Focal, Dynaudio, and Boston among many others.

It's hard to tell you what is the best company to suit your needs unless you tell us what you're looking for besides loud. Every company can get loud...but who can sound good TO YOUR EARS doing it. On this note...would you prefer a brighter or more mellow sound? Strength in the midrange area, or better in the midbass area? Have you thought about a 3-way set for the best of both worlds? Have you given any thought to running your speakers active instead of passive? Though picking out a pair of speakers isn't too hard.... with your budget, give some thought to it. What do you really want besides LOUD speakers?

A 3-way set would give you better midbass and midrange by separating the drivers used from a single driver into 2 drivers...a larger one for midbass..a smaller one for midrange. From there you also have the tweeter obviously. Please note...midbass is not the same as sub-bass which is what your JL W7's will be playing. So it'll help out everything above what your subs will be playing.

If you don't know the difference between bright and mellow, I would suggest taking a trip to a local car audio store and listening to speakers to find out what you want soundwise. Brighter speakers have more "oomph" in the treble area...something that is too bright (harsh) will come off as ear-piercing to you. A mellower tweeter is a softer tweeter...something that will not get harsh. Typically brighter tweeters have more detail, but there is normally a point where they become too bright. If you're not sure and simply want to play it safe, a silk tweeter is a good choice.

Who will be doing your install? A shop?

I second the 3 way set-up if you have the amp power for it. You can run either a HD 3 way for ES 3 way from CDT. I got my ES 3 way set from Exige and the price was unbeatable with customer service out of this world.

I just PMed you. CDT speakers sound amazing to me. I would change nothing about them. I am not a big fan of JL. They do sound good when installed right, just like every other speaker. I just feel there is better for the money.

G, my email address is sales@exigeaudio.com. I can help you find a good shop closer to you. Email me and I'll get you my personal contact info as well. Personal=personal cell, not just regular number, therefore I don't want to post that publicly where it could get abused. Email me and I'd be happy to help you out.
