Hey everyone, today I finally managed to install some speakers I've had for about half a year. However when I finally started my car up, I could barely hear them.

I installed some 5 1/4" Alpine type S 2 way speakers into my door, spliced (soldered and heat wrapped) and the end result was fairly disapointing. The volume from these speakers was way below my coaxals and tweeters. There was still music from them, but mostly it was mid base. (Type S are suppost to be more tenor oriented, R were suppost to be mid)

I'm really confused about this and the only thing I think might be influencing it is a possible lack of power. I'm using my car's factory amplifier along with the original infinity system (minus the 2 speakers just installed and a new head unit)

Car is a 94 Chrysler LHS. Is it possible my soldering wasn't properly done? Could that be influencing the sound?

Your stock infinity system probably has the crossovers in the amplifier. Meaning those speakers are getting only midrange while the highs go to the tweeters, which you just took out.

The way to fix it: get rid of the stock junk and use an new amplifier and HU.
