| I am just looking for a cheap audio system that produces great sound. I only have a $300 budget. If you have any suggestions on what kind of system I should get please inform me!! I am just looking for a basic CD player, Reciever and bookshelf speakers. I was thinking about getting some Polk Speakers. I have heard that they are pretty good and some cheap Polk speakers will be in my budget. I'm not looking for a system that has 700W of total power. I just want something that has some decent sound to it. It would also be nice if you could tell me about any cheap recievers that have good reception. I am pretty sure it would be cheaper to buy a whole system that is already together. But I want to look cool and be able to say hey look at my audio system, it has a variety of brands included in it. Don't I look cool?? HAHA just kidding. My dad has given me some tips also, he said that, "a cd player does not have to be expensive to get great sound, the lasers inside of the cd player are all the same. So the sound that comes out of the speakers is basically the same." He also told me that I should spend all of my money on speakers. The more expensive the speakers the better the sound quality is. Help me out here! Thanks |
Anonymous | Get real. $300 will buy you a mini-system and thats a stretch. If you want seperates for $300 I think you need to find someone selling out of a truck, you know what I mean, hahahaha. If you want check out Ebay for 10+ year old receivers. Then buy newer 8 ohm speakers and a cheapo dvd/cd player. This is the only way to get your seperates system within your budget. |

You might be able to meet your budget. |
GT | This is by far your best deal for under $300. http://www.harmanaudio.com/search_browse/product_detail.asp?urlMaterialNumber=CINEMAPROPACK600-Z Essentially its a HK receiver and 5 disc DVD/changer paired with the JBL SCS135 sub/sat combo. I've never heard this system before but based on HK receivers and JBL speakers it should be pretty awesome. Used to retail for $899. You're not going to get this much clean power anywhere else for that price. |
