run a sweep with the termlab. then you'll see what is the best frequency.

"run a sweep with the termlab. then you'll see what is the best frequency."

that is a good idea but sweep cds dont cover all the frequencies...use that and then get an idea what range is loudest and use a test tone cd with single tones that fill in the frequencies your missing to find your exact loudest frequency...that freqency can change because of other variables in the future but not more than 1-3 hz

if your box is actually tuned to 33hz.. you should peak around 41-43hz

well when i meter my car, what is do first is run a sweep at decent volume. then it shows what frequencies were the loudest. so lets say it was loudest at 50hz. then i get a 51hz, 50hz, 49hz, 48hz and let it rip.

There is a program called audacity that is free to dowload and you can create a tone at whatever frequency you want... Its pretty cool. Me and my cousin use it with FL studio for making beats. Also you can burn a cd of whatever you make so that could help you when you need to narrow down the sweep.

it was either 52 hz or 54 hz and even though Dwight was tuned to 40 hz and Kangology 101 is tuned to 33 he will probably be close to Dwights frequency

the best way to find your resonant frequency is to throw a 10 in a sealed box
burp it at EACH frquency say from 30-70 and record what you hit at EACH freqency.....

then take the same enclosure out of your car and put it in a big a field or open parking lot were there is nothing that can obstruct the sound waves....then put the TL literally inches away from the cone....meter it AGAIN at EACH frequency, record the number at EACH frequency....then take the two sets of numbers and subtract them so like
130 @ 30hz for the first one and 115 @ 30 hz for the second set of numbers gives a 15 db gain...so at which ever frequency you get the best gain is your resonant frequency...this is alot of work but it is the MOST ACCURATE way of find your vehicles TRUE RES. FREQ.

ive done all this and its a painnnnn

That plan is good but not without possible error...testing with your subwoofer you are going to use in car and only in car seems to be the best approach to me
