I been searching for a HO alternator.
Iraggi offers
"Dominator" Series
220 amp / 130 amp idle
240 amp / 120 amp idle
260 amp / 110 amp idle
280 amp / 100 amp idle
300 amp / 90 amp idle

"Amputator" Series
220 amp / 150 amp idle
240 amp / 140 amp idle
260 amp / 130 amp idle
280 amp / 120 amp idle
300 amp / 110 amp idle

DC

260 amp / 130 amp idle

which one should i go with? I notice the higher the amps the lower the idle.

id probably go with 260/130 that way you can have max amperage and a good idle but with the jl amps also your going to need more juice

well I think the battery will kick in the extra 20 amps your looking at should you use it...that way youll still have the idle reserve...is there a specfic reason your looking for the extra 20 amps

"sean i am trying to get the max output with a good idel.

other than the stated facts...no I dont know anything else about the alternators

ok heres another way you can look at it and see what you think youll need based on your plans and goals

at idle 14.4 volts
110 amps =1267 watts 20% loss
120 amps =1382 watts 20% loss
130 amps =1497 watts 20% loss
140 amps =1612 watts 20% loss
150 amps =1728 watts 20% loss

at around 1700 rpm id think (not sure)
220 amps =2534 watts 20% loss
240 amps =2764 watts 20% loss
260 amps =2995 watts 20% loss
280 amps =3225 watts 20% loss
300 amps =3456 watts 20% loss

I just broke out my calculator and took off 20%...so those power amounts I listed are with 80% efficiency...I figured if you could see the power amounts it would help you...how efficient is the mmats or how many amps of fuse does it have...also dont forget your amps running your highs in the decision and the cars basic electrical needs

I don't know Chad. I want to get my alt there also, the 300/160 looks awesome. Hopefully they have a clamp to measure amperage so I can see real results.
