To make it that much fancier looking?
Honestly I don't know.
I can understand huge amps that draw tons of current and need multiple runs of 1/0 to carry the current, but not when they're 4 guage and could just go bigger.

wtf happened to my post?

i asked why would companies use dual 4 gauge when they could use single 0 guage.

anyways yeah troy. that is what i was thinking. a single 0 gague would be better than dual 4 guage.

i think its mainly because some amps run 2 smaller power suppies rather than a big 1

but yea a single looks alot better & neater to wire too ...

My RD 5750.1 has 2 inputs for 1/0awg power and 2 1/0awg for grounds, needs 500a worth of fuses mind you.....

I have not seen a smaller power amp that would do 2 4awg and not a single run of 0awg.

I know the bassworx 3000.1 has an input for 1/0 power and another input for a cap....

the dls amp i ordered has dual power and ground inputs. its only a 1200wrms amp so that is enough. but when i had the orion 2500d and the mmats 3500.1, they both had dual 4 gauge. i just thought it would be better if they had single 0 gauge. not saying that those amps performed bad cause i had them and they were awesome. i am just curious thats all.

I can tell you one reason why from finishing running my zero gauge power wire under the trim beside the door...less wire thickness...which would be easier to run under that panel than a single zero guage because you can run them side by side

my friends audio art 100 hc has two inputs for the power wires that are 4 gauge...(im pretty sure its 4 gauge)...its rated 50 by 2 but audio art claimed 1100 rms at 1 ohm...but the shop I used to work at said they only got it to put out 800 rms (maybe it needed more current im not sure)

They are long since out of business but made very good amps
