I have about 400 in various wish lists and queue's online. Next I will work on record collection. I'm pretty picky with records and won't just buy a lot just to pick through as I just don't have room for that. I pick through them on site and choose what I want and let others do the same. |

Life's too short to take anything for granted. |
Silver Member Username: KevincorrFairbanks, Alaska Usa Post Number: 474 Registered: Jul-07 | Lots of great stuff. Too far behind to comment but many of my favorites listed. I was having cd filing problems. I put them in those 'case logic' books but I was having problems finding what I wanted, so I went through and re- organized the books beter by category. For example: Blue Note Classics. Piano leaders solo duo or trio separate from piano leaders with horns. Some artists nearly fill their own book or two to a book. 42 books about 30 cds each. That should be enough to retire on, but like Art, I have a big wish list. With the vinyl I have more than I could ever listen to but there is always something new. Both new music and new discoveries. It is an addiction! In the last few weeks I have bought: Tierney Sutton- Dancing in the Dark, Joe Lavano- 2 cds w/Hank Jones Pat Metheney Trio- Day Trip Michael Brecker- Pilgrimage Wilco- Sky Blue Sky Lila Downes Nashville Bluegrass Band- 20 yr Blues (because I love that fiddle, Stewart Duncan on John Prine, Mark Knopfler and Iris Dement albums) Herbie Hancock- Possibilities Bettye Lavette So much for having enough music! |

Gold Member Username: Mike3Wylie, Tx USA Post Number: 1181 Registered: May-06 | OK, I've done garage sales, estate sales, Half Price Books, etc. Today I key LPs in the local Craigslist search and find and an ad posted 15 minutes earlier, "Box of LPs, mostly '60s. $10. So I email and get a call back in 10 minutes. Sandy lives 10 minutes away. So for $10 I get a wheelbarrow full of records. Close to 200 in all. All of Peter Paul and Mary, many Simon and Garfunkel, Moody Blues, CCR, BS&T, Chicago, Pearl by Joplin, Elton John, Mathis, Rogers, Willie, even the boxed set of the rock operas Jesus Christ Superstar, near mint. There is a bunch of Walt Disney, a Pinocchio picture disc included. Some of these have mold issues which I will either deal with or move out. Another stack of records are mostly classical or guitar specials. These are really moldy and will be living in the garage until I decide what to do with them. The last box had albums, like photo albums, of various sets of orchestral or soundtrack box sets in 78s. There are also a number of such box sets in 45s. Not bad for $10. Richard Harris - My Boy On queue; Sly and the Family Stone's Greatest Hits Don McLean - American Pie |

That got me on the kick of getting every Flora and Airto album. I have a double live album burried in the vinyl somewhere. Need to attack that mess soon. They got all shuffled in storage and return. I was very lucky that they made it through and I got them back. My friend stored them for me and his wife had them stacked into an old travel trailer out back. When he died at 62, she was moving away and told me to come and get them. Luckily I was in town when that all transpired. For about 18 years I spend at least 6 months per yr away from Alaska. |

They were the "Cover of Rolling Stone" a couple of issues ago. Good read too. I think it is Colin Greenwood who does not like Audiophiles. Thinks we are trying to re-capture our teens. I've never heard them sound this good. An impeccable pressing and sound quality. Mike Wodek, The vinyl version of BB King sounds better overall than the CD. The main difference is that the CD version sounds compressed in a way - smaller soundstage with less space around everything, and slightly flatter. If your interested in a copy, PM me. |
