Or U can "sub share" with family and friends...basically 1 person subscribes , gets as many receivers/cards activated as possible from DTV, and distributes them to their trusted family and friends anywhere in North America, who hook up the receivers to their own installed dishes aimed at the 101 for most...then U all split the monthly bill..and never plug in your phone lines into the receiver..

sham: Nobody seems to want to give the information you are looking for. DTV was hacked till about two years ago and has not been laid open since their new security measures in 2005. So you cannot get it on your FTA without a subscription.

LK; You had a chance to answer, and I had my answer.

The person who asked knows what he was looking for and where he got the information from.

Anybody she does not like is DN or BEV mole. But in reality she is the one who threatens to report you.

For everybody's information:
LK will try to drag you to her site where you have to pay to get attention. She deliberately ruins any good posts here so she can get you to her site.

I had DN for several years and HATED it! Crappy reception, pizz poor customer service, extremely overcharged service calls.......

DTV has worked well for me. No outages/reception problems to date, great channel/price selection, and a free portable dvd player just for signing up.

Well... It's amazing some of the things I don't know. I didn't think one could get DTV on an FTA box with a subscription.

Thanks for the informative post Nalin!!

English is not a first language for many people on this forum. At least he was able to convey the message. If everyone start speaking their language, just imagine what this forum will become.

DirecTV on FTA Reciever

I've known people who've had success connecting an FTA receiver to a
DirecTV dish - but never while DirecTV receiver were also connected
into the same switch. From what I've read both DVB and DirecTV use the
same LNB voltages and 22khz tone so I believe I'll be ok.

C/P
The birds that DirecTV dishes are pointed to use higher power
transponders - thus the reason why people have had success using a standard DTV setup with an FTA receiver.

yes it's possible. Using an oval dish with
three LBNs I can received three FTA channels on Echostar 6 & 8 and
almost all of Dish Network's radio. All I had to do was get the right
combination of 13/18v and 22khz tone. I'm using two DirecTV switches as well.
