I have a viewsat xtreme which suddenly stopped working a couple of hours ago...the signal and quality both keep fluctuating and I have tried changing the antenna setup settings but nothing has any effect on it...except when i turn LNB Power on ...then the signal is constant and the quality is 0

I have tried Plymouth's advice of Reloading Factory Bin, and then the latest bin file but nothing has worked

do you have switch on your system?
fluctuation is like water in switch or bad connection

it has snowed today where i live and there have been really strong winds, perhaps the dish moved...unfortunately my satellite is positioned extremely high on my roof and its hard to access

Check your dish before do anything.
If you have a friend with a dish
try your receiver on his dish.
Sorry

go to walmart and buy a super-soaker and fill it with windshield washer fluid or de-icer, and fire away.
