9ga. wire for subs?

Is it ok to use a large 9ga wire for this? I have alot lying around and would rather use it than buy 12ga if I can. Will this affect anything? Thanks in advance. Colin

The main benefit is less heat and power losses The only problem might be whether or not it fits the driver and amp connections.

If so, why aren't you running a low level interconnect rather than a high level speaker cable? How long is the cable run? How much does 12 A.W.G. cost you? Where'd you find "9" guage cable? .
