I am fairly new to this and not sure why my current setup isn't working properly. My setup is as follows: I am using a Pansat 9200 (HD) receiver. I have 2 DishPro 500 dishes. One is 2 LNBs (110 and 119) and the other is 1 LNB (129). I have each of the LNB's hooked up to a 4 to 1 Diseqc switch. On the switch, the 119 LNB is hooked up to LNB 1, 110 LNB to LNB 2, and 129 LNB to LNB 3 (and the antenna settings on receiver are correctly matched to that setup). When I perform scan on 110 and 119 when all LNBs are hooked up to switch, many channels are missing. However, when I unplug the third LNB from the switch (129), the scans on 110 and 119 are fine. Is there something Im doing wrong or missing? Also, sometimes when I change channel that is on another sat, I get a message on screen saying "Moving to Echo 8" or something, then after a few seconds, says channel is scrambled. Also, I believe my antenna settings are fine, so I don't think any problem comes from that. Thank you for any direction you can provide!
we need your antenna settings ,if yo post them we can help. also remember to ALWAYS turn receiver OFF.when removing or hooking up cables,if you don't then you will kill your switch or damage the receiver
Eddie What I'll do: - With receiver off - Use a coax coupler instead of DISEqC - One sat at a time install and scan - Step and repeat for second and third sat - Finally use DISEqC to combine all 3 sats on one receiver
- Every time yo change coax cables receiver must remain OFF yo turn it ON only when yo are ready to scan - In antenna set up yo must assign DISEqC ports to match coax to D-SW order
Thanks for your help guys. Here's the update. I did what you said, Tapeman. I used a coupler instead of switch to scan each sat individually. Then I connected them all to the switch after each was scanned (antenna settings assigned to proper diseqc ports). The results: Yes, all of the channels on each bird are now in the channel list. HOWEVER, only the Echo 5 (129) (LNB 3 on switch) channels come in. When I change to a 110 or 119 channel, it gives me that error "Moving to Echo..." message, then goes scrambled channel or no signal. This is strange because when each sat was directly hooked up to receiver thru coupler, channels came in fine on each sat. Do you think this means there is a problem with the diseqc switch? Have you heard of this issue before? Thanks for any help!!
