have a 1999 Pontiac Montana minivan... It is no longer a family vehicle.. I have 2 12" kicker solo x subs.. They are powered by 2-Hifonics Brutus 2005D amps..The subs are currently in a 5 cu. ft/sub ported enclosure tuned to 45 hz... The subs came in this box when I bought them.. I took out the 3rd row seating and placed the subs facing the rear.. I took it to a U.S.A.C. competition and soon realized that I had some major problems.... My van roof flexes about an inch(from b- pillar all the way to the rear )when hitting the low freq. I want to wall out this van (right behind front seats) with speakers and port facing forward.. I want to incorporate the box i am using into the wall. I think that if I wall this van out from where the flexing starts it should resolve a lot of the problems.. This will be for SPL mainly.. Any help would be appreciated. anyone know of a good link with detailed instructions on the best way to do this type of project. These links are a couple of vids of my van flexing... and my setup as well as the inside of the van.. thanks in advance!

well, an ez way to make a wall while using ur box is:

1. move ur box up and then create a beauty panel to seal off the rest of the cabin.

2. actually wall the sucker off.(which would be way expensive.

IMO u need a bigger box and more power for them subs.

S12X
6 ft3 (170L) + port displacement, Fb=45Hz
Port: 60 in2 (387cm2) area x 6" (15.2cm) long
Power Handling = 2000W Peak

So you need 12cuft you can do everything you need behind the 2nd row seats, build your box so it fits tight, then build a face plate that fits the contours of the interior of the van don't waste your time trying to seal off a van it isn't worth the time or money! I did it on a pontiac trans van worked great!
