Hello, my sister has a viewsat ultra receiver that I bought for her, It is connected via coaxial cable to input one on her Dishpro LNBF, using a Dish500 satellite dish.

She has loaded the recent update and her satellite "S" reading is at: 86, her "Q" reading is at: 72 yet she has no picture. She tried looking at the "guide" and found that she could see all of the channels and their recent information (current with the current time) but when clicking on a channel, she can't get a picture? Any suggestions? (she is located in northern michigan and has been able to get satellite tv in the past up there).

Would appreciate any help.

Thank you.

a simple reboot should fix it...

using rear switch, power off for 2-3 minutes, then power back on...

also when DN or Bev change keys, U have to be patient for a few minutes while new keys roll into place..

Thank you, she tried rebooting before but didn't wait 2-3 minutes so I will have her do that and see if it works. Any other suggestions welcome if that doesn't work. Thanks for your time in response. Does it sometimes help to flip the 3,4 switch in the back? She only has one receiver so I wouldn't think that would matter with frequency but do think that is worth a shot?

if its on the wrong 3/4 then no TV...so yes that matters...lol

recheck the antenna receiver settings that she should have saved written down someplace, if a reboot doesn't fix it...

Sorry LK I do appreciate your help, I tried the reboot with my sisters receiver and it didn't work. So I started thinking maybe her antenna settings are wrong. I myself have a standard lnbf and she has a dishpro lnbf. So being it was a different question I wanted to ask, I posted a new thread. I still have to find out from my sister if the changing of the setting for the antenna will fix her problem. I will post the outcome when I correct the problem so that it may help others with this problem.

Again, sorry, not trying to piss anyone off here, just had a different question to what the problem may be. Again, I do appreciate your help, it is very nice of you to post to my thread. Thank you very much.

Nope, not playing with anyone here, I appreciate all of your help. I'm new to trying to figure this stuff out and appreciate your input. This whole setup with my sister's receiver is really been quite a pain in the butski, she lives 4 hours away from me and I have to communicate with her over the phone to figure out why she cant get a sat. connection. I sent her an email with the correct antenna settings and hopefully I will hear back from her when she tries fixing that. Thanks Metallica and LK, I do appreciate your help. Take care, once I find out if changing the settings works for her I will let you know. Thanks again, have a good night!

Hi to LK and Metallica, thank you so much for your help. Together we finally got my sister's satellite working. I tell ya, I've been trying to help her the last month with this and finally it is working. It looks like by the antenna info Metallica sent to me worked by changing the diseq ports to the right ports and the lnbf to the right setting. Plus as another precaution we turned the receiver off for 2-3 minutes per LK's instruction and then turned it on again. Both of you really helped me and I appreciate it so much! Thank you Thank You Thank YOu!

WRITE down and SAVE the antenna settings...they change by themselves sometimes....especially after loading a new file...

also ,always do a reboot BOTH BEFORE and AFTER loading a new file..

these are the 2 biggest mistakes by people..
