I would consider the new Audiopipe, XXX, and Raptor to "Be Avoided". Not true gauge wires. The 4ga in those brands is really ~6-8ga.

Also, alot of the Xscorpion wiring is "Good". The new 1/0ga Expert-Link I would consider "Highly recommended". They just switch over to the super flexable pvp insulation like Kicker Hyper-Flex.

I agree with the raptor wire being "misgauged". It's misleading and that's fucked up. But as long as you know what gauge it truly is how's that affect the quality? Even if the 0/1ga is more like 2ga in size, does that mean it's pizz poor wire QUALITY?

It's still oxygen free copper wire right?

I just wanna know the "quality" of raptor wire, regardless if it's grossly misgauged.

That is all.

I'm not a wire guy is all. To me wire is wire. If it's the size I need then how's the "quality"????

If it's crap it's crap, in any size. I just want to know if it is......

I would not consider scosche good, their rca's are crap, wiring is not actual size, and the threads or so thick and hard they gouge your fingers.

In making this list, we should have it set up so a noob can easily see what wire they should get.

If you put Audiopipe or Raptor in the "good" catigory and they get some 4ga for at 1200wrms amp, they will not have the wire they need.

So...IMHO, Raptor = avoid

Has anyone mentioned ED wire? I have 127lbs of it coming to me. Last word to me was that it was decent.

True?

IIRC, same league as XXX/Raptor.

Also, put Q-power in the Avoid catigory. Its horribly under sized.

PowerBass has nice wire...put it in Recommended.
Xscorpion makes both VERY nice wire and lower level stuff. The Expert Link is NICE! Platnum RCA's are great. The Installer Series wire and TR-series RCA are what I would consider "Good".

Canaan- I am referring to the quality.

Sean- I would put it on the budget, ONLY becouse its only it like $35-$40 at walmart for the whole kit (pwr/gnd, rca, rem, spkr wire, ring and battery terminals, ect.) For the money it ain't horrible if you're on a really tight budget, but I would not recommend it if you have any remotely descent equipment. (aka- you get what you pay for)

Anyone heard of surge? The 4ga is more like 6ga, but has many strands and is decently flexible. The prongs in the rca tips actually broke off and stuck in my amp, but they were shielded and twisted and has a nice coat of rubber on them. I know remote wire isn't that big of a deal, but it was pretty thin, but it worked with no problems. I didnt think it was horrible, but was definitely not what I thought I was getting.

^^^I'll let you guys make up your mind...

Place Power Akoustic in the avoid section please. It's sad when my Kicker Hyperflex 4gauge has more actual wire than Power Akoustic 2 gauge. The wire and their accessorires are garbage and to be avoided. Unless you want casing instead of wire...
