im not sure, im open to any and all. Remember as simple as possible, thats one reason i love my 9813, you use all the buttons all the time and there is no hidden modes and crap lol.

does pre volt output do anything?
i really want a deck that will put out the best signal for my speakers (going to be hooked up to an amp)
and one that can have its own antenna so i can get rid of mine since it doesnt' work...

i've heard alot of bad reviews about Alpines new stuff. and francly i've lost all faith in them, don't get me wrong they WERE at good company, but then they let their fame get to their head and their quality dropped. the only good thing they make now IMO is amps they can do a heck of alot better on their subs speakers ans HUs...

My cousin has had like 4 alpines and all of them have broke due to manufactuers defects... so i just don't trust them anymore...

"i've heard alot of bad reviews about Alpines new stuff."

There are also allot of bad reviews about Pioneer, as well as other brands. None will be perfect.

" the only good thing they make now IMO is amps they can do a heck of alot better on their subs speakers ans HUs..."

The Type R sub is one of the best out for the price range right now. As well as the Type R components which I have heard nothing but good about.

"My cousin has had like 4 alpines and all of them have broke due to manufactuers defects"

That's kind of weird. I know several people running Alpine subs, HUs, and components and they haven't ever had a problem.

just to me the quality in the HU's dropped, and the R is one of the best subs, but if they actually started doing more/better research like they can, the R can be the best sub out for the money. I've never heard the R speakers but i've heard the S and E powered on amps and with out amps and they just sound like stock speakers that have nothing to them.

Yea the ones he buys he gets from stores non refurbished BNIB the first 2 were installed by the stores and they went bad, so we figured it was the store so we did the next two and the same thing happend. one of the internal memory boards like fried and cracked?? never heard of that problem b4 in ANY product so idk...

i guess all in all, Alpine is this badd azz company that IMO could be doing alot better, they have the hype and not the bang... don't get me wrong they are good, but this is just what i think...

Yeah, comparing a type s and a type e to the type r, is like comparing the looks of a p0rn start to the looks of a back ally h00ker. Just b/c they do the same thing, doesnt mean they are alike in all ways.

I have only owned Alpine and my other bud around only ownes alpines and until they fug up big time (or I find a kickazz deal on something else) I will only own Alpine. Havent used the newer stuff but if you can find a 9835, you will love it...

Get real. Alpine HUs are good quality and almost never fail.

Name one specific example of how their quality has gone down.

Alpine
Clarion

Pioneer

Just my preference fellas. Just bought a Clarion DXZ 775USB over the weekend and this unit is loaded with features. Just wanted something different but reputable. Clarion's are known for SQ, even back in the day.

MS if you read the whole thread you'll see what i lost faith in Alpine. Don't imply that i don't have any reason not to like Alpine when i obviouesly do.
