SonicView PVR 1000 and 8000???

What a good site to buy one? Does the SV8000 Pickup regular channels with out the upgrade or does it not get any DN with out the upgrade?

How much better is the quality on standard def channels compared to the CS7100. all the talk about CS sucking so much I may want to swap out.
