55-9-414. Blue flashing emergency lights on motor vehicles unlawful -- Exception -- Penalty. --

(a) (1) It is unlawful for anyone to install, maintain or exhibit blue flashing emergency lights or blue flashing emergency lights in combination with red flashing emergency lights, except full-time, salaried, uniformed law enforcement officers of the state, county, or city and municipal governments of the state, and commissioned members of the Tennessee bureau of investigation when their official duties so require as defined by 38-8-106 and 38-8-107.

So,by what i see there, it says that FLASHING BLUE OR RED LIGHTS are illegel
so as long as they don't flash, color shouldn't matter...or if they do flash, just no Red or Blue.

but to be safe, call your local police dept.

In Jersey the neon is not legal. It states for "show" purposes only.

I think any neon is illegal in IL. Even the neon license plate frames. It's OK if the car is parked with them on, but not on the road.

in texas having anything besides the stock light that illuminates the license plate is illegal. if you have a license plate "trim" that even covers the top part of the "T" in Texas you will be fined...if the cop is a pr!ck....don't know about neons though.

If you want the look just be sure to switch them. When you're parked or just showing off you can turn them on. When you roll out or on the road turn them off. Simple.
