Gold Member Username: CblazeRock island, Tenesssee Us Post Number: 1554 Registered: Sep-07 | enter in how ever wide and tall u want the box,and it will do the rest.u enter how many cubic ft u want on there.and it gives u demensions.notice u dont enter the depth u want.that is because it tells u the depth u need to get that amount of airspace |
Silver Member Username: Pbplayer05Carroll, Iowa Post Number: 270 Registered: May-07 | is it an acurate program |
Silver Member Username: Phil_salisburyPost Number: 500 Registered: Sep-06 | Not all if any enclosure design programs account for some details when calculating the enclosure's final specifications, so be mindful of what is and is not part of the design that you need to account for. |
Silver Member Username: Pbplayer05Carroll, Iowa Post Number: 271 Registered: May-07 | as in what |
Silver Member Username: Phil_salisburyPost Number: 501 Registered: Sep-06 | Each program is different as to what elements they do and don't account for, but, if you looking for a list of what the elements are, here it is: Net Volume - That which only the subwoofer requires. Subwoofer Displacement - Volume of the subwoofer Port Volume - Volume of the Port - round, square, slot port size. Port Wall Volume - MDF Parts that make up port or tube. Bracing Volume - Material used brace the interior of the enclosure. |
Silver Member Username: Pbplayer05Carroll, Iowa Post Number: 272 Registered: May-07 | so what would u say is missing that i need to account for |
Silver Member Username: Phil_salisburyPost Number: 502 Registered: Sep-06 | OK, if you use the program per the link posted, it covers all the elements with the exception of BRACING. If your not going to use bracing, then don't sweat it. |

Silver Member Username: Pbplayer05Carroll, Iowa Post Number: 274 Registered: May-07 | awesome sounds good to me wats a double baffle though |
Silver Member Username: Phil_salisburyPost Number: 505 Registered: Sep-06 | Chris, There's no true accurate enclosure design program, if there were one, then there wouldn't be or the need to have so many different calculator's all over the internet. Off hand I would say there are at the very least 10 to 15 enclosure design programs/calculators on the net right now and there are only a few that actually provide a " CUT LIST/Parts List " to make the job easier which is why they are " popular ". |

Gold Member Username: Nyyfan1315 MAG USA Post Number: 8082 Registered: Jul-06 | A double baffle is just using 2 sheets of MDF on top of each other to make it stronger. Instead of having the sheet be 3/4", it would be an 1.5". |
Silver Member Username: Pbplayer05Carroll, Iowa Post Number: 276 Registered: May-07 | do u need to do that |
Silver Member Username: Pbplayer05Carroll, Iowa Post Number: 277 Registered: May-07 | do u need to do that |
Silver Member Username: Drant19DUB-C, TX Post Number: 279 Registered: Aug-07 | you dont NEED to if you have good bracing |
Gold Member Username: CblazeRock island, Tenesssee Us Post Number: 1556 Registered: Sep-07 | ive always wondered wat happens if ya dont brace it or double up thew wood with high powered subs?does the box flex like crazy? |
Silver Member Username: Pbplayer05Carroll, Iowa Post Number: 278 Registered: May-07 | well will i need to double baffle or brace it or should i be ok |
Silver Member Username: Pbplayer05Carroll, Iowa Post Number: 280 Registered: May-07 | ??? |
Gold Member Username: ShortysetniesRock Vegas, NC US Post Number: 1772 Registered: Mar-06 | It all depends. What sub are you running, how much power? for the average system, no double baffle but a little bracing always helps... |
Silver Member Username: Pbplayer05Carroll, Iowa Post Number: 282 Registered: May-07 | well it will be 2 12 bms and a usampos md2d |
Gold Member Username: ShortysetniesRock Vegas, NC US Post Number: 1775 Registered: Mar-06 | I would defiantly do bracing and a double baffle will never hurt but I wouldnt say it was nessicary in your case |
Silver Member Username: Pbplayer05Carroll, Iowa Post Number: 283 Registered: May-07 | well would bracing change the freaquency or anything and how do u do it also the doublew baffle is just another front panel then right |
Bronze Member Username: StevilPost Number: 37 Registered: Jan-08 | Okay.. does this program take the port displacement into consideration? |
