" I believe my box is a 2700". Please never use these words. Instead say, "my box is a 2700 clone"

You need to first upgrade to B75 Boot. Use
Clone_2700_Upgrade_Package_v201(b-75)
here ready to load to any clone of 2700 load the boot file

and then load the Clone safe
Pansat-C 2700 240v1 Tivo
using loader 27.02

You may find this package at

Do you have null modem cable? If you do not know if the cable is null modem, than buy a DB9 M/F null adaptor. Then with the cable alone you have one type and with the adaptor and cable you have the other type of cable.
Also make sure you unzip the files before using.
Boot file is loaded with receiver on and Write clicked at the same time.
The BINs are usually loaded clicking "write BIN" when "b" shows up.
