Ok Chauncey, we can probably make a deal.

I bought these subs off my friend and he doesnt know what ohm they are or if they are DVC..

Can any of you or (Chauncey) identify what these infinitys are? I know they are Kappa Perfects 12.1d 350 rms 1400 peak...But it doesnt say what ohm they are or if they are DVC...

I would have to email you the pics because this host will not support 600x600 and my software wont shrink the pics...

Well they are obviously DVC since there's 2 sets of terminals on them

To find out what impednace (ohms) they are take that wire off of the terminals. Set a DMM to read ohms and put the probes on the terminals..........

Actually never mind that. If I remember correctly, those only came in 4 ohm.

So the ones you have must be DVC 4 ohm.

These are the older ones and they just say infinity on the front...

This is how they are wired now (as I bought them)...

both subs are : (-) connected to (-)
(+) connected to (+)
then on one side of the terminals there is another (+) and (-) running to the box terminal...Thats how both subs are...

Then there is a wire on the back of the box that connects a (-) to a (+) making it where two wires, (0) and (-) are running to the amp

bad

" I have it about 3/4 on the bass knob.."

did you set the gain with a dmm? by the way hifonics "bass knobs" are actually gain/bass boost knobs, unhook it now if you know what's good for you. I blew a sub that way on my old 1206d

Ok...Well I called a customer rep from www.infinitysystems.com and he said that I need 1.75ft for each sub so I got a 3.5 ported tuned box at 35hz.

2. They are dual 4 ohm wired down to 1 ohm

3. I just used a flat head screw driver to set the gain...whats a dmm and how do you use it.

4. I will unhook the bass know tomorrow

5. Thanks..

I'm confused about the who gain thing...some say to use a dmm at 50hz and some say tune it by ear. I have always done it the way Govmint cheese has done it, by ear...but I didn't know that about the boost knob....thanks...saved me money

you can find a basic DMM(digital multimeter) at any dept store and I think even walmart for $15, ROE has free test tones that are not attentuated.

when you set the gain, you need to set the DMM to measure AC voltage

subwoofertools has a voltage calculator that will tell you what your desired voltage output from the amp should be. or you could follow what zac davis sugg and just set the amp the same as the preouts on the HU ie 3/4/5 volt, etc.

Ok Chauncey, they are your man..this one guy wants them around here and he offered 140 for them in the sealed box....I told him they are sold though...How much are you willing to pay?

Oh yeah, made a smart mover today and took back that Hifonics 1,600...got a pretty much brand new Memphis ST100D for 100 less than the Hifonics..lol...I also got two type R's in a huge ported box from the pawn shop...I dont know how big it is but I'm sure its going to bang!
