Hey, I just bought two older kicker compvr's. they're 400 wrms, and dual 4 ohm voice coil.

What would be a decent-quality (looking cheaper than $150) amp that does 400x2 RMS @ 2 ohms or 800x1 RMS @ 1 ohm??? Or can they take more power, and sound better? Thanks.

Thats about as close as youll get for something new. Search ebay for used stuff...it might be a little closer to 150.

they're the older cvr's that arent rated for as much power, would that amp overpower them? (or just set gains right?)

Amp i have right now, from my old setup is the crunch pzi325.2(rated, 300 x 2 rms @ 2 ohms) overrated, but would that power them ok???

Also, for the box, would ~1 cu.ft. be enough for each sub? Still have a box if it'll work. (building a cheap-ish system for a friend, lol)

well, i'm going to remeasure the box, i thought it was only ~2cu.ft....not sure tho. also, it's a sealed box, not ported. Better off just making a bigger ported box???

HA...sorry, i just realized, i just bought 2 of those exact amps(A8000T's)!.

Though they were going to be for my setup, i guess i could spare a used one that i have for my friend and get a new one off ebay for myself...

Yes, the A8000T and A8000V do their power at 2 ohm and the A8002T and A8002V do their power at 4ohm.

You could only run that amp at 4 ohms with those subs. So no you wont get full power to them with that amp.
