fta should be around for a long time, remember fta signal is digital anyway ,you may have to change your TV if it is analog

thanks for your answers.......but what I don't understand is if all the receivers will be able to get all the channels......because right now we need HD receivers with modules to get HD channels......will the actual receivers will be able to get every channel or will we need new receivers??

Thanks in advance.

Jayson,
tv standards are changing to digital not hd so there is no issue , because you will still get channels in digital

There are three Broadcasts today:
1- Analog
2- Digital
3- HD

This will affect local broadcast via conventional Antenna's
Keep in mind conventional antenna's receive both analog and digital
Only Analog that will be phase out in 2/2009
Analog represents less than 15% of today's television broadcast anyway

Log on this site
Enter your Zip Code and see what will be affected

If yo have an old TV set by 2009
It will be time to start shopping or purchase an adapter

Only in USA but if you use an over the air antenna to pickup local USA TV stations you won't be able to pick them up without a digital TV or tuner.
