Anybody got any ideas? |

Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 7485 Registered: Jun-04 | you could do two 10's or one 12 but you only have 2.89 cubic feet total from your demensions so 10's would be kind of tough to do...what kind of sound are you looing for and do you want it as loud as possible or no |
Silver Member Username: Mark8722 Type X 12s, Hughes S..., Texas Post Number: 212 Registered: Jul-07 | i want it loud, but not too too loud too where it rattles everything apart like my cavalier did. its a brand new car so im tryin to keep it nice. i would like good sq and to get pretty loud i guess. i thought about gettin one 12 and facing it up and have the port face back. |

Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 7486 Registered: Jun-04 | I was gonna say the soundsplinter 8's but didnt no if you wanted to spend 400 bucks for two |
Gold Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 1985 Registered: Dec-06 | Did I mention I am selling a pair of SS RL-i 8s? |
Gold Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 1986 Registered: Dec-06 | And not for $400 lol |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 7487 Registered: Jun-04 | the soundspinters would sound better sq wise than the dd 8's and hit the lows better but spl wise the dd's would win and the soundsplinters can go in pretty small boxes |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 7488 Registered: Jun-04 | I thought so BCS I was going to ask you....how much so he knows |
Gold Member Username: Denali_on_22sYou can call me Scroog... Post Number: 3464 Registered: Feb-06 | 10s could fit |
Gold Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 1987 Registered: Dec-06 | I would like to get like $250 shipped. I could go a little lower if it meant a quick sale. I will believe people when they say the DDs are louder, but it's hard to believe. No one believes me when I say I'm running 8s and I've even been told it's the loudest setup a kid (newb but still) has heard. |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 7489 Registered: Jun-04 | they are 185 bucks plus shipping each new http://www.soundsplinter.com/rli8_subwoofer_information.html |
Gold Member Username: InsearchofbassPost Number: 7490 Registered: Jun-04 | Yeah like Reece Brassler and I said 10's could fit but it depends how much of your trunk you want to give up |
Gold Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 1988 Registered: Dec-06 | I have them in a 1.2cuft box..it's hard to beat the output for that size. |
Silver Member Username: Mark8722 Type X 12s, Hughes S..., Texas Post Number: 214 Registered: Jul-07 | yea i was thinkin either two 10s or 1 12 facin up...what 10s would yall recommend on 1000 watts..and should i go sealed or ported? |
Gold Member Username: Skibum12189Cleveland Post Number: 2347 Registered: Mar-06 | "You could do a pair of quality 8s. With the right subs, they will get loud and sound great. Say some Soundsplinter RL-i..." i was thinkin 3 SS RL-i 8s or the new Audiopulse Epics (i think they sell 8s) bc most 10s are really like 10.2-10.5 inches including the gasket and whatnot. I vote 3 Epics or RL-i 8s itd be badazz smokin people and then they'd be like pop the trunk dude and you have little baby 8s.... or sh!t, get like 4 6's..... |
Silver Member Username: Mark8722 Type X 12s, Hughes S..., Texas Post Number: 215 Registered: Jul-07 | would 1000 watts push 3 Rl-i 8s though? |
Gold Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 1992 Registered: Dec-06 | Yeah it would. Not to the full potential, but close. Why run three though? Then you get into weird impedances and such. I think you would be pretty happy with two (but definitely three as well). |
Silver Member Username: Mark8722 Type X 12s, Hughes S..., Texas Post Number: 216 Registered: Jul-07 | Cal mentioned about doin 3 Epic 8's or 3 RL-i 8's, but if i do 8s ill prolly just go with 2. But im still thinkin about one 12 with the sub facin up and the port back. |
Gold Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 1994 Registered: Dec-06 | Ask around and make sure that kind of design works well for a car like yours. If not, these 8s hit like any other 12 I've heard (granted I've never listened to a DD 9512 or anything.) |
Silver Member Username: Mark8722 Type X 12s, Hughes S..., Texas Post Number: 217 Registered: Jul-07 | how would you compare the RL-i 8 to the JL 8w7 |
Gold Member Username: MgbcsLincoln, Nebraska Post Number: 1995 Registered: Dec-06 | I haven't heard the W7. Based on price, I would assume the JL may be better. That would be a good topic starter tho. I'll start one up and see. |
