im thinking of buying another box for my bedroom.i have a viewsat extreme now in my den.with what all is going on would it be wise to invest in another box?i mean all this game of cat and mouse gonna end soon?if i do buy another one where would be a good place to buy and what kind would you guys recommend? thanks in advance........
they are $750 with the needed adapter for A viewsat or pansat the clones are $200 with very little suport....I am waiting...I instead bought a NFUSION so I can have all of DN-BEV most of the time..
By the Internet, they send the codes. They are emmulating the codes to fool the receiver that it is getting legitimate codes from DN. There has been talk of the risk of being tracked by your IP address, but its not likely, unless nfusion releases the IP information. The servers are located in South Korea. We need to know what laws apply there.
Quentin / juan, I've also heard fantastic things about the dreambox. I'm deciding between it and the nfusion but I'm leaning towards the DB as I'd prefer not to have the receiver connected to the internet all the time. Could either of you send me an others a few links on the DB that give info on loading it, changing it when there's an ECM hit...etc. Much appreciated!!!
ok kles why do u wanna want dream box? buy viewsat pansat ,Koolsat (all crap).. the thing is if rec is not up all the time.. its crap... and the thing is dreambox is not difference than viewsat,Koolsat etc.. if it ain't up its not worth to buy it.. buy nfusion and get connected all the time.. u wanna watch tv not looking at box... hope it helps..
sada, I understand your point. Can you send me a link on the nfusion boxes much like the links I'm looking for to do with the DB boxes. I'm just looking to do as much research as I can on both so I can make an educated decision.
sada, thanks but I'm really looking for a link to show exactly how to set up the new boxes and what you need to do to keep them up and running. Newbie instructions as they say.
thanks sada. that was excellent however he doesn't mention the hooking up the receiver via ethernet. I know how you would do it but once you plug in the cable at both the reciever and the computer....then what. again...excellent link! thanks
basically u just plug in network cable to any of the port on your wireless router and the other end goes on back of rec... it will automatically detect intenet connection.. u need network cable .. cost $ 10 .. same cable as you use on modem to comp (white cable).. after that u will see option on ur rec remote menu, ins internet ..wher u can see ur ip adress current sw version ..and by clicking on update u can update ur rec.. u don't need to unplug ur rec or anything. as long as ur internet is connected ur rec will work.. if ur rec is far away from wireless router . u need to buy a netgear cost about $ 50.. and u can just plug in to socket and the other wire goes to tv. so netgear detects internet from ur wireless router.. only if ur router is in some other room or else.. hope it helps.
sada, thanks very much...that helps alot. I would have to get the netgear as my tv is downstairs but the wireless router is upstairs. I'm assuming I can get it on ebay just as I would the nfusion receiver itself. thanks for the info again...top notch!
captive works 800 pvr all the way,for 150.00 can pvr functions, usb update, and hot rocking best support you can get without giving up your ip address, yes, yes, yes
Can anyone provide the info requested on the dreambox? Any happy DB users out there? As you can see from above, the nfusion info was very forthcoming and helpful. Hard to compare if the info for 1 is lacking. Thanks.
