Question: Can I use the Same Smart Card at 2 different homes? I have a summer home that I recently purchased. I'd like to install a dish and reciever and just take the smart card from my primary home to the summer home when I'm up there. Can I do this? Is it legit with DirectTV?

Thanks.

Thanks.
Question 2. Let's say I order a bundle deal from Direct TV for my home. i.e. 3 room system. (comes with 1 dish and 3 receivers). Can I purchase a separate dish and take one of those receivers to my summer home. Essentially I'll have activated all 3 receivers and I'll still be billed at my normal home....but will the 3rd receiver work off of the 2nd dish at my summer home without any problems? Is this a legit thing to do with DirecTV? If not, is there any way for them to know I've done it?

Thanks again.

sorry No they cannot find out, unless you plug then phone line in, they will say that you have to have one in, but you do not just tell the installer that you don't want to plug your phone into the recievers they usually don't care & if they tell u that it has to be just unplug it after they leave.. they will not be the wiser

Cool. Thanks again for the quick reply.

On that subject....do they really identify what phone number dials them (i.e. some caller ID mechanism on their end)? Don't I have to connect it to the phone line to download the guide? Or is that sent over the dish? If so....what is the phone line used for? PPV only?

Thanks in advance. :-)

the phone line sends and recieves info back and forth from the receiver to dtv, and it's used for PPV purchases. Like Hack Man said just unplug or don't plug in the phone line and you should be fine.
