Tryina figure out what speakers to get to compliment them. I need to get 2 6-3/4" speakers for my door speakers and 2 6x9's for my rear deck and I'm not sure which ones to go with. I don't wanna be stingy on speakers because they are important.

For the 6-3/4"s I was thinking the Pioneer Premier TS-D701P. They seem pretty good and I can get them for like 100 bucks. Not bad but kinda cheap for good speakers no?

The 6x9's I was gonna go with the Alpine SPR-69c's. Anybody have any better suggestions or experience with these speakers? If you know of anything better, lemme kno.

Almost forgot,I have an 08 Chrysler 300 and I listen to rap music.

Also, should I get component or coaxial?

For a pair of R's, I'd definitely amp a component set.

get a comp. set for the front and a nice 2 channel amp for them. don't really need the rear speakers, but if you must i'd get a decent set of coaxs'. and run them off the hu.

what's your budget?

component it is then. My speakers are 6-3/4" in the front... any good ideas on what to get? So do you think the alpines are ok for the back? HU means no amp connected to them right?

Budget is like probably 500 for speakers

And if you want to stick with Alpine

(Can be bought for under $500... just don't know where since woofers etc doesn't have them lol)

Btw I wouldn't get rear speakers.
Rear speakers can make the SQ up front sound worse. Saw this on another thread:

http://glasswolf.net/caraudio/rearfill.html

Only reason I would get rear speakers is if you have people in the back of your car a lot and care about what they hear or want to add a little more mid-bass without changing your front speakers.

You can make, or have made, mounting rings.

Wow that piece about the rear speakers is interesting. I never would have thought that keeping the same ones back there would be more beneficial

Well, I'm taking it to a place to get it installed because they owe me a free install so I wanna have everything there for them and just be like "here, work your magic"

Making mounting rings seems like a little too much work for them...

Most come with mounting kits, but if they don't they can be made easily and if you get it installed by a pro it won't cost much, if any, more.

Those polk ones arent very good? They look pretty good no?

Can you find me some 6-3/4" that are good and can fit right in, no mounting kit required? If not, can you find a 6.5 that DOES come with the proper mounting kit and send me a link

You know I just listened to my sh1t again after playing around with it and Im just not satisfied with the knock i get from my subs. I think I need 15's or another amp powering my 2 12's. I have a rockford fosgate 1000 watt amp pushing both of them... is that enough?

Just because they're Polk doesn't mean they are good. Those are their lowest model and decent for the price, but unless it's changed your budget is $500 and your ears will be happy if you go with a better model lol
Correct me if I'm wrong anyone, but doesn't just about all 6.5" comp sets come with 6 3/4" mounting rings?
You could always look on the manufacture's site if your not sure grand hustle.

Well, I had it in my old 98 jeep and they sounded like they didnt have enough power and I got them installed by bestbuy.

Now I moved them over to my 08 chrysler and I bought the wires and they were like 100 bucks. I had them installed somewhere else because I thought maybe it could be the wiring but still, just doesnt sound like i want it to...

Im going to get my trunk dynamatted so maybe that will help a little bit but idk what to do.

"Most come with mounting kits, but if they don't they can be made easily and if you get it installed by a pro it won't cost much, if any, more."

Just called up the place and they charge $60 bucks for the extra parts...

Finally, I found a winner. I know its over my budget but im sorry... Its gotta be these, I fell in love with them.

Ok so I'm going to get the Pioneer AVIC-M4 and a pair of the Polk Audio SR6500 for now until I can find some more for a good price (I'm getting them for around 4 bills.)

Anyone know of a good EQ that I can get?

So just leave the stock speakers in the rear? Its just kinda hard to believe that its a bad move to upgrade speakers but my wallet sure will be happy
