Gold Member Username: FrkkevinResonant Engineering..., Fort Worth... Email Post Number: 4397 Registered: Nov-05 | was this really a hatch? 146 is low for a hatch if so.. was pulling a 146.3 out of a trunk on the same power with 1 15" still loud.. could be louder though |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinResonant Engineering..., Fort Worth... Email Post Number: 4398 Registered: Nov-05 | oh yeah.. it was 146.3dB @ 42hz TL .. this was a daily box tuned to 35hz peaking at 42hz |
Gold Member Username: BasssquaredKansas Post Number: 1787 Registered: Nov-06 | "ray ... dont be mad cuz ur sx wont get that loud haha"Mike Loudon "i was pulling a 146.3 out of a trunk on the same power with 1 15"" Kevin Previe Mike you just got PWNED that one 15" he's talking about happens to be a 15" RE SX so yeah. |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinResonant Engineering..., Fort Worth... Email Post Number: 4400 Registered: Nov-05 | well yea.. 1 RE SX 15" (04/05 model) on 1 RE 35.1 (1500rms @ 1 ohm 12.5v) stock electrical 90A alt and two yellowtops box was 4^3 tuned to 35hz resined inside.. peaked at 42hz .. could have been louder if I did not have bad rear wave cancelation trunks are not fun for doing SPL there is a ford focus hatch here that runs two CVR 15"s that was doing 148-149 depending on the day.. port/sub up.. wrong design but it worked for him.. he was running a kicker 1200.1 .. it was a crappy prefab box at that |

Gold Member Username: HdubbTeam Revolution Post Number: 3269 Registered: Nov-04 | mike is tuned to 32 i believe. it is still a good score. it is a great starting place. now if your getting serious mikey about dbdrag...time to redesign a burpalicous box. its al about box placement.and direction. and silly rayray so fast to jump o the pnmt boat lol. with your box that far back mike you may try sub up and port back. or sub and port up. |
Gold Member Username: LoudonPost Number: 2146 Registered: Jun-04 | well sorry i wasnt here to defend myself ... the box that i have the alpha in iis sub and port forward ... stock alt ... single battery... big 3 ... daily box tuned to 32hz ... i was going for a musical box ... congrats on the 46.3 well done with an sx ... oh and ray .. were talking about kevin not your noob @$$ ... ud be lucky to get a 42 out of that sub ... windows down seats forward ... my new box is going to be 3 cubes sub up port up ... getting designed as we speak |
Gold Member Username: BasssquaredKansas Post Number: 1791 Registered: Nov-06 | "oh and ray .. were talking about kevin not your noob @$$ ... ud be lucky to get a 42 out of that sub ... windows down seats forward ..." your a dick Mike ;) |
Gold Member Username: FrkkevinResonant Engineering..., Fort Worth... Email Post Number: 4401 Registered: Nov-05 | mike when you burped did you run a sweep first or just start selecting tones? ive never seen a box peak 20hz higher than tuning.. i woulda figured you'd peak 8-10hz higher than what your tuned at if you didn't run a sweep to find a starting note you score could be higher with that setup.. if you did and it was 52hz.. well thats crazy .. just means build your next box tuned to 42hz just curious if you tried burping in the low 40hz range? |
Gold Member Username: LoudonPost Number: 2147 Registered: Jun-04 | nah i didnt run a sweep .. i ran music ... then i took my frequency and ran a tone with that i didnt touch ne thing in the lower 40 range ... i didnt have alot of time .. bout 10 minutes or so i just did what i could . |
Gold Member Username: HdubbTeam Revolution Post Number: 3270 Registered: Nov-04 | i was thinking the same thing kevin. thats a huge jump mike. i bet 42 will be better on the mic. imo. |
Gold Member Username: LoudonPost Number: 2148 Registered: Jun-04 | im gonna go back tommorow and do it over ... well see what happens ... im also gonna do a drop in of a different box ... 3.2 cubes 36hz port up sub up 70 inches of port |
