Trunk space is limited so I was thinking of a single 12" sub. What would you suggest as far as a sub? Size? Model? Head unit? Model? As afar as a head unit I want something that looks nice, with outputs for Sub control. Amp? Speakers and tweaters? I was thinking Image Dynamic Sub 12" (not sure what model) with a Zapco amp (once agin not sure model or power). or JL W7 12" with a JL 500.1 amp? Anything else? |

Bronze Member Username: GermanguyPost Number: 53 Registered: May-04 | everything sounds sweet, but search the forum to realise that a 500.1 is not enough to power the JLW7 12" for what it's worth. zapco amps are very good too. for your HU, you should check out the high-end series of clarion, alpine, eclipse etc., get the specs you need and choose your favourite design. just keep searching this board, you will find some answers! |

Silver Member Username: Jonathan_fGA USA Post Number: 369 Registered: May-04 | If money isn't an issue, I'd do an Eclipse 8454 head unit for the best sound quality and for the 8V preouts. That would match perfectly with a JL amp, I like ID Max subs better than a W7, and a JL 1000/1 would be perfect for one. Zapco amps are even better, but you need a Symbilink input for best performance with one, some of their amps require them to run, and it'll cost a LOT of money, in the couple of thousands if you're getting the competition series, even the Reference series amp (1100.1) you would need would costs $1100 not even counting Symbilink, etc. Another option is their Reference 750.2, which is 750 watts bridged in a 4 ohm load, $700 bucks. Go to www.zapco.com and get prices, they run pretty high. It's all what you want to spend. JL 1000/1 with an ID Max would be all you need, though, I run a JL 1000/1 amp on my system and couldn't be more happy with it. |

A seen some Zapco amps on Ebay for decent price but not sure what series to go with? Whats a Symbilink? I research here daily learning A LOT.. Great site |
