Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

As we celebrate the holidays, I want to personally thank you for being part of the FTA.Com family. I hope that you will have an opportunity to relax at least a bit during the holiday break and spend time with family and friends. Use this time to slow the pace a bit, reflect on the things that mean the most, and gain a new perspective on all things in life. That sounds a bit deep, but frankly all it takes is to be with loved ones and truly focus on them rather than the day-to-day work that occupies so much of our lives during these busy times.

From the staff of FTA.Com, have a safe and happy holiday. Thank you !! Oleg PHD.(euroecm@usa);(euroecm@ru)

Emulator ON = Box is emulating card functions. Just like all other boxes.

Emulator OFF = Box running on IKS.

pvr data is recorded to your PC via the network. You must have the IP-PVR program running on your PC. Its only has 1 tuner so you can only record what you are watching.

As far as epg, have you pressed the blue button when you are in the guide?

cartier1,
Currently ALL nfusion need to be connected all the to get video on BEV and/or DN.

You need to flash the current bin via serial cable on any new box.

As for your last question, I think only a Lawyer could answer that.

Canadians are tapping into one of two sources: via "grey market" dishes--paying for U.S.-based signals by setting up a U.S. mailing address but receiving the signals in their Canadian homes; or via "black market" dishes--buying so-called "pirate" decoders to receive U.S.-based signals, but not paying for the service.

There have been some estimates that up to 800,000 Canadians are receiving U.S.-based satellite services resulting in a great loss of revenues by Canadian artists, producers, programmers, and broadcasters alike. Broadcasters estimate $400 million per year is being lost to unlicensed providers. Businesses selling decoders for foreign-based satellite signals are now in direct violation of the Radiocommunication Act outlawing the unauthorized decoding of an encrypted signal.

Users of "grey market" dishes could face one year of jail time or $5,000 fine while users of "black market" dishes could face criminal charges and up to two years in jail. However, authorities will first target the vendors of the illegal decoders.

the boxes arent illegal, its just when u combine the box with a bin file. So they cant really go after the vendors of these boxes. Maybe civil suits. Maybe. I dont think its legal to get bev in the usa. EVERYONE WOULD BE DOING IT.
These have been going for over a year? WShat does that have to do with anything? Not many are using them yet in comparison, but as the numbers rise... and if these sites keep the ip's somewhere, which they will, they WILL come down on the USERS. I cant see where the benifits are good enough to risk losing money and/or going to jail.

maybe somehow using a proxy server... The risks are WAY too great. FTA works fine. Even when down, still many channels. Watch it when it works.

bev in canada is the regular sub service is legal
bev in canada on fta/bin files is illegal.
bev in usa on fta/bin files or sub i believe is illegal.
charlie in usa on sub service is legal.
charlie in usa on fta/bin files is illegal
charlie in canada on fta/bin files or sub service is illegal.

just to clear all that up.

american sat providers are banned from legitimatly selling and subbing in canada.

How far doe this logic go?
If I am canadian, can I steal cars in the US and it is ok
If I am american, can I steal cars in canada and it is ok
Stealing is stealing regardless of which side of the border it happens.

American sat providers are not banned from legit sales in canada. Canada's version of the FCC is the CRTC which has canadian content rules, in which the american providers won't buy the canadian content to qualify(don't blame them either). In canada, we have so much french shoved in our faces, its rediculous.

Only way to legal recieve a providers signal is to subscribe to their service no matter where you live. Stop trying to justify what we do.

How can you compare a car to a Satellite signal? in the first place, the tags will say where the car came from and the owner of that car. The real reason why American providers
are not doing business in Canada. The Canadians
refuse them licenses. There is no agreement between Canada and USA on Civil Suits.

agree with mr. patel

I think this FTA market is run by a single group and is monopolised. These guys are making money, and the $$$ amount is huge. Both US and Canadian tv service providers are benefiting from this grey market.

TOM:

please read my post. ANY FTA/BIN FILE setup is illegal as my post says. Any American satellite subscription brought across the border to canada even tho the sub is legit is still illegal.

the only legal sat sub in canada is canadian sat providers.

thanks

Rush is correct. Subscribing legally to a US sat provider in Canada is still illegal, as is using a fta receiver or other means to watch a US sat provider in Canada. It is a myth that it's OK to watch dish in Canada. Stealing is stealing and that's how it is looked at in the eyes of the law.

As for the nfusion, if the keys aren't rolling, etc, shouldn't it still work without being connected to the internet? You should try it Sada and see what happens.
