Thursday, December 20, 2007 - 16:20 GMT I've had my 15 XXX for over a year now. I'm now getting to the point were my sub does seem loud anymore. I am powering my XXX with a Mmats 2100.1 1550RMS. I am thinking of buy a 15 MT but dont know how much sq i will lose. What do you guys think i should do?

Thursday, December 20, 2007 - 17:06 GMT I have RE 15" MT and it is loud. If you're concerned about SQ, then you're in the wrong area. 15XXX should be loud with SQ. RE 15" MT is loud with some SQ. It really depends on the box's volume and port frequency. I had mine around 35Hz. With 1200w - 1500w, it'll sake everything in your car, as well as trigger car alarms. My MT is collecting dust now cause I can't use it for daily driving. If you're interested, I'd sell for a good price/trade for a SQ sub/JL amp.

Thursday, December 20, 2007 - 17:07 GMT Well if more SPL is your goal, go for it. However, I don't know if you'll notice a HUGE difference on that amount of power. I don't have experience with RE except for the SX, so maybe someone else can help you better. I can tell you that the MT will get louder off more power if you upgraded amps too. JMO

Thursday, December 20, 2007 - 17:17 GMT Too late, I responded first! MT can handle way more power than XXX so of course it'll naturally be louder. SQ will depend on the box's volume and port frequency. I've tested it myself. You'll get similar answer from RE tech support.

Thursday, December 20, 2007 - 21:28 GMT It's night and day when comparing MT/XXX. The people I know that run the RE MT don't give a sh!t about SQ all they want is loud/SPL. RE MT's are not SQL drivers.

Thursday, December 20, 2007 - 22:10 GMT if you really think about it there is no such thing as an SQL driver.. it is either SQ or SPL .. almost any sub at a lower volume tuned low will sound good presenting sql.. given the proper design box and a clean signal lowlife.. IMO.. throw more power to the XXX or get a second one.. i finally got my box in my car and to be honest the XXX did not please me in the SPL range.. everyone said it got loud and sounded great but my SX got louder.. i need to test with more power and try tuning higher.. it does hit the lows amazing though.. can't imagine two of them .. but 1 just is not cutting it for me right now

Thursday, December 20, 2007 - 23:10 GMT Joey, do you own a RE MT sub? Have you called the tech support? Have you designed a box for it? Have you tested it out? Before you say something's something or give strong opinion, please have facts and proofs. I have purchased RE 15" MT sub, designed a box as per RE's tech support, tuned the port to 35Hz, used 1800w RMS amp, with HO alternator, and tested it out. Played test tones as well as full music. It's NOT all bout SPL with MTs. It's all in the design. So please be more accurate next time. Thank you. ps. I bet you'd fail a blind test between my MT vs other SQ subs at 1200w - 1500w RMS. I'm 99.9999% sure.

Thursday, December 20, 2007 - 23:48 GMT Too many people assume just cause a sub was in the SQ section, that it'll automatically sound great and SPL will sound like $hit. Unless you take time and money to actually design and test it, you'll never know.

Friday, December 21, 2007 - 00:57 GMT Isaac NO I don't own a RE MT(and I never will) a couple of my friends have/had them. Yes I called RE/US Amps tech support and they said if you want SQ get the RE XXX and if you want loud/SPL get the RE MT. LowLife If you want SQ stick with the RE XXX and add more power.

Friday, December 21, 2007 - 01:03 GMT he already has 2000wrms going to his xxx. you don't need to give it more. find another xxx. joey i love the way the mt's sound. last year there was a dude with an integra. he had 2 mt 15s in a 8cu ft ported box. it sounded clean. yes they are geared towards spl but giving them decent power in a nicely built box for music, you can make them sound good. if you don't believe me, go to termpro forum and look up redbaron80. he is the one with the mt 15s. lol.
