Good strong driver, that can be used in a high power daily system, as well as an SPL install. I tested in 1.1 sealed, 2.0@27hz, 3.0@33hz, and 3.65@52hz. It favors the larger boxes and ported in design. It did not flinch at 2500-2700 watts, and the product model has two more spiders for higher abuse levels then the prototype I tested. Very heavy driver, and really should have 1200 or more watts on it to take advantage of its abilities. |

Silver Member Username: DenimWww.TeamSSAudio.com, MD Post Number: 527 Registered: Nov-06 | I felt that after the break in period, it was most at home in the 3.0 cube box. Does it need that big? No, it was fine in the 2.0, but seemed to wake up more in the larger box. It was down right nasty in the 3.65, but that was due to the peaky high tuning. |

The SPL12 is a venture out to the other side of things. It is expensive to make and ship, but it can take a great deal of power and have plenty of composure for daily usage at a low tuning frequency. It is a very good option if someone wants something in the realm of a Fi BTL, but wants to try something different. |

Silver Member Username: DenimWww.TeamSSAudio.com, MD Post Number: 531 Registered: Nov-06 | If you are going to buy a driver of this caliber, to get the benefits, I would suggest 1200-1500+. Does it need it? No. But it does have an rms of 2500 for a reason. |

Bronze Member Username: MrogowskiPost Number: 85 Registered: May-07 | That's his trademark. Do the same and he will sue you. The SPL-12 laughed at the 3kw music I threw at it. Denim is right though, you can get it going nicely with 300 watts, but don't sell yourself short on the power. You *will* want to send it more... |
