IKS vs Emunation

Bronze Member Username: DickfoilPost Number: 65 Registered: Dec-07 | i hate to tell you this but your going to have to look around at dvb sites or dvb sections. all these devices can be quirky with different computers combined with different cards. some set ups seem to work better. these dvb set ups are very time intensive to set up ...a lot of reading a lot of scanning and trying different codecs and video graphs. the viewing programs can be buggy , depends on your set up. i would go with a pci card if possible. |

New member Username: LuserPost Number: 1 Registered: Nov-07 | I have that card twin han 1027 in the pci version.I had to use drivers called digitaltv3.3 and then use vplug or emunation with my theater or dvbdream.If you get an error you have to restart your computer.Once working it has an awsome picture on a 42" plasma.Hd but not 8psk only a few qspk on 82 bev. |

New member Username: LuserPost Number: 2 Registered: Nov-07 | No tv out.You need a seperate video card unless your laptop has s video out.For emunation you just put all files in your dvbdream or my theater plugin folder and one file called pthreadVC2.dll in the root and it comes with a link to install visual c++.Then you can watch the emunation monitor as it finds the keys for different providers or now for bev, map:ce not supported. |

New member Username: LuserPost Number: 3 Registered: Nov-07 | Compared to stb its a big pain in the azz.I only like it for its 1080I.It freezes up and you'll have to restart your computer to get the drivers started again.Channel names are 4letters and doesnt seem to handle 4 sats well.It also requires 2g prossesor.It ran a little longer than my viewsat on last ecm but seems to coinside with what channels are up or down.Other than that Its my only hd source for my hdtv if and when bev comes back.It has gotten better as I get more of a feel for it.I have used the remoted but it does change channels slow.No comparison to my vs xtreme.A few bins ago they did a theme interface upgrade its now cartoony like windows xp.I thought it cool.Bla bla bla hope I helped! |

Gold Member Username: Cartier1Post Number: 1546 Registered: Feb-07 | nalyn i did not buy the card from ebay . electronic store next to my house ordred it for me this way i can return it to him if i changed my mind . in fact i got the card and i return it unopned cuz my pc dont have the requierment for the card to work . the processeur is less than 1ghz. cuz i dont use it anymore . but i do use only my 2 laptab that i still did not make up my mind on wich usb card i will buy . i will let you know of any news. |

It could me simply the dvd program your using is blocking the video because of macrovision. Some programs do that. Or maybe it's your TV-out settings. Do you get sound and just a black screen on the TV? That happens to me sometimes. It's different depending on your video card of course but on my ATI card in the settings and go to VIDEO and then THEATRE MODE. If its on standard it shows the black screen. If I change it to THEATRE MODE, or SAME ON ALL I see picture. Some cards you have to choose CLONE. Hope that helps |
