and this is the latest info so why others will go when it is here Summary of Current FTA Situation Dec 18 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

bev opened up a door yesterday that allows them to run any code they want, and they can change that code once a minute, every minute! This is gonna get really interesting very quickly.

We'll soon see who has the juice to stay up. Only a full blown emulation of the card stands a chance. Since we already know that bev is the testing grounds for dish, the future is definitely uncertain for the older FTA units.

The units that just patch for each various ecm will fall by the wayside, or be relegated back to their original purpose, of pure FTA.

Nagra has had their security issues for quite sometime, but its looking alot more secure than ever before, almost like some NDS help was hired to help out with the dynamics.

The combination of stuff they can throw at us now is endless.

Thats the bad news. The good news is coders are about 98% done with the full emu, right down to clock frequency counters and timers within the maprom.

It seems the coders are just as determined to beat the endless possibilities of dynamic hashing, and some are just as brilliant as the very best NDS or Nagra engineers.

It has been far too easy to watch Encrypted signals for free for a long time now.

Just about any old fta Unit would do the trick. This will not be the case in the very near future.

People will have to finally retire those old Fortec Lifetimes and Pansat 2500's, and probably alot more. It's all gonna boil down to who has the best coders.

We'll get to see who has the smartest coders, and the best support.

The game is far from over, but it is about to change dramatically.

Many of you had been watching bev on a Viewsat with a previous BIN . Why are these units up and others aren't?

Simple, it is an Emulation of the card, one that wasn't finished yet, but is working for the current bev hash.

Most of the people that visit this website are using Sonicview and Viewsat. Good choices for the future. Copied and pasted.
got this info from completefta
