So I determined my cd player makes my sub play an audiable blurp when I turn the volume from 0 to 1, and from 1 to 0... and when I switch between radio stations and turn off the cd player. Its kind of a cheaper cdplayer soo I think maybe I should just get a new one. Do any of you have suggestions of what it may be? If not... what is a nice cd player to replace it with? I used to be into all those fancy colored screen and graphic cd players... but really all I want is just something thats going to do what its made to do, and sound great doing it. Any suggestions for a new cd player?

are u talking about a popping noise? if so could be the way the player is made if it just happened the potentiometer in it could be going bad. alpine a nd pioneer are your best bets and pioneer premiere for the higher price budgets.

Well its like a loud single note that gets sent to the sub. Although my cd player is a pioneer... my last two were pioneers as well and I had good luck with those... just think this one is getting old. I would like to try alpine... any suggestions on a nice alpine? I like how simple they look.

i don't have advice on alpines units cause i don't run with them but if you ask in the subwoofer section you'll get a decent response. as far as what your saying i'm gonna say it could be even a shorted out rca i heard it happens alooooot even though i haven't ever dealt with it. but alpines are like pioneers in my opinion. stay in the 130 dollar and up range and thier all great units. go below that price margin and u start scrapin the barrel for quality.

When you say shorted out RCA... are you talking about my wire? Or the actual subwoofer output from the cd player?
