i might be getting the zapco 200.2 from thieves in a a week or 2 if everythang goes right if not i will get a diff amp,100 rmsx2 @ 2ohms or 50x2 @ 4 ohms, what would be a good set of components, would really like to get some 2 ohm ones to get more wattage but i guess if not 4 ohms would be ok,price range really around a hundred, could go a lil bit more, and im not purchasing off ebay, usually sonic electronix or onlinecarstereo, maybe woofersetc to,first set of components ever,or even amped mids,i dont want a brigt sound if ya know what i mean i want a clean crisp sound

the only 2ohm components i can think of are the infinity kappa's but they would be pretty d@mn bright.

i say wait til you have a bigger budget and get the pioneer premier 720prs.

What do you mean by bright? Not have a good sound, mostly high (no depth)?

i figured out what i mean i dont like the metal tweeters, like the silk better, that way they sound good listening to all types of music, the metal ones only sound good on rap where the tweeters need to have that brite soundd to them

bright = mostly high, a harsh sounding tweeter and not much mid bass.

Silk tweeter > metal usually.

Infinity's are especially bad. Not all metal tweeters sound that way, but a lot do.

it wouldnt be so hard choosing if they made more 2 ohm ones, unless i just run 2 sets of 4 ohms off each channel, but that would ruin the front stage effect everybody says u should have, never tried it lol

It would be ok to run 2 sets of the same components. What you don't want to do is run 2 sets of different speakers.

it wouldnt be so bad if they were cheaper lol

since u seem to know about components what some good 4 ohms 50 rms components i could get 2 sets of for 150 bucks,or is the budget to small?

Yeah not big enough budget.

What you really need is an amp that does more power a 4 ohms. 50w isnt a real lot.

if you wanna get serious with this stuff....you really need to get AT LEAST 100x2 @4ohms on the amp...125-150 would be preferable though. i would rather get a lower-end solid amp that does more power in place of an expensive zapco that doesnt do much power.

I agree with Exige

I actually couldn't find a good 2ch amp at a reasonable price that had enough power for my components. They take 200w each, and I always want an amp with more power than I need (headroom).

I ended up getting a 4ch Alpine amp, and bridged it for 250w X 2ch

for 80 bucks u aint gonna get much power,i just want the mids alil bit louder and to have better clarity than a headunit i doubt i could stand more than 200 watts rms of mids,i can stand thousands of watts of bass but mids jus dont need to be insanly loud

even if u have 200rms to your speakers, you dont have to listen to them at full blast all day long...turn it down lol

im getting the zapco,i learned the hard way, quality amps is a must or the majic smoke can appear ,i might save up a lil more for some better components, even if they are just 4 ohms,i thank a lil over 100 watts rms would be good enough for my front stage

you can get a quality amp that puts out more watts rms. look on ebay for a refurbished kicker. good amps and come with a birthsheet :-)

200.2 wouldnt push much...look atleast into a 350.2 or 550.2 if possible. just my 2 cents

quality is a must..but zapco is overkill.

here's a very decent $130 option:

http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=6097

secondly..you already said you don't want bright speakers....focal and infinity are probably the 2 brightest brands around...if you dont want bright, you're going wrong with the focals.

you really need to listen to this stuff before you make a call on it.

if you don't want bright like you said earlier, i suggest CDT's...a much smoother sound to them that wont get harsh on your ears.

if you're interested in them, feel free to PM me. ive got some pretty good prices on them.

^^^^ Absolutely 100% agreed. Bad idea to buy a set of speakers without hearing them. Also, I run the CDT HDs and they're great.

CDT's EF series isn't nearly that expensive. i can't list pricing info here but you know where to send PM's for prices. hefty sale today anyways.

cdt>infinity any day... spend the lil extra money for some QUALITY.

it would suck to get your whole system installed and then realise "f\ck...i should have gotten better speakers or bigger amp"

get it right the first time...
