You can get the same adapter on Ebay for about $15. Make sure you get the Driver CD with it though.

somesays it works with vista and some says it doesn't. I got mine from radio shack
and I have windows xp in my living room and it works.
I also have laptop with vista..
and its working on mine..it work on port 4.
I have instruction how to load it into vista but its at home. I will try to post it when I get home.
here is another person who says it works.

Does work with VISTA
By Scott from Sacramento, CA on 7/31/2007
Pros:Reliable
Bottom Line:Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Even easier than Rick D from Sequim, WA post on 3/12/07. Just right-click on the installer program on the CD, select Properties, Compatability tab. I wasn't able to enable "Run this prog as Admin", but just enable "Run this prog in compat mode": Win XP SP2, and it loaded no problem at all on my Vista laptop. Installs at COM 4 port.

also here is some of the reviews from others..

Its only Money....This is a Hobby so what ever the cost is, is what we pay...if you are not in a hurry you can shop around , look for the best buys.. I for one dont care too much about price..but i do like a deal... I bought a Vista compadable usb/serial adapter new...it works great... Used is always a gamble... Just my 2 cents worth

Better of red,

I have a computer here I am on now that has a modified copy of XP on it. It is made special for speed and so it will take up less Hard Drive Space. One thing we did to "lighten" it up was remove alot of unnecessary files. Some of the files we removed on the OS was the extra driver files.

My point here is with this machine each time I add a new hardware device I MUST have the drivers for this OS on a disk or downloaded from the nett.

So lets just say for a moment that olgakemerovo's machine is set up like this one here. His Computer would not automatically load the drivers into device manager would they..

His computer could be very behind on updating the drivers for usb devices as well. That could cause the OS to not be able to load the driver also..

This list of reason's why a device will not load with the drivers provided by XP could go on and on and on on....

He asked were could he get a serial adapter with the software to use to update his receiver. I count 9 were found for him to get to fix his problem.

It is great that you tried to help but, please read the entire thread and decide if it was answered before adding information. Then if you are sure you are adding someting usefull and that has not been posted already please feel free to post.
