Hey Juliob, just letting you know that I am finally getting my amp in the mail today from Fed Ex so i'll get that bench test ASAP!
Also, just wanted to let you know that aparently the ASA2000.1D's have been stopped being made until next spring for some reason so I had to downgrade and get the ASA1500.1D.
Sorry Chris, havent been able to complete the wiring yet. Ive done a lot of progress today though.
1. Took apart rear seats 2. Wired RCA and REM to HU 3. Took all required panels off 4. Ran Power, RCA, and REM wires to the trunk 5. Vacuumed out car 6. Reattached rear seats and panels
Only reason I couldn't complete the job is because I couldn't find a drill bit big enough for my 0/1 gauge wire to go through the firewall! Any ideas?
Im gonna run out to Home Depot tomorrow before work and see if I can find a drill bit there big enough for the job. If all goes well, I should have it completed tomorrow night!
3/4" drill bit is what I use when drilling for 1/0 wire, hardware stores have them. If you can't find one, look for a 3/4" hole saw, they work just as well.
^^^Ya, I was thinkin about starting with a small drill bit just to see where am at, and then gradually increase it in size. Biggest drill bit I could find at the moment is 1/2", and the file idea isnt bad at all...I'll have to give it a try tomorrow!
Be careful if you gradually go bigger in drill sizes because sometime the drill bit will snag and the drill will kick and possibly give you a "Knuckle Buster"....
No problem Juliob. It's good to know that these amps are worth the money!
Ive been having set backs on my install lately due to horrible weather. Every day brings cold wind and rain and I don't have a garage so it's hard to make any progress realy
