Silver Member Username: Mike_16Reedsburg, Wisconsin Us Post Number: 714 Registered: Aug-06 | so i wana get 2 r's just for budget subs righ tnow and get teh amp i was origanly gon aget fo rteh 2 bl's but cant afford teh bl's so i am gettin 2 r's i wana kno wif i get teh r's in dual 4 ohm wired to 1 ohm.. but with that amp running at 1 ohm it is capable of doign 3800 some odd watts rms the birthsheet said. but i wana know if i kept teh gain all teh wya down if il be able to use that amp on those subs? or what about 2 ohms dual 2 can be wired into 4 ohms and 2 ohms right? |
Silver Member Username: Mike_16Reedsburg, Wisconsin Us Post Number: 715 Registered: Aug-06 | ohh that amp does 2000 rms at 2 ohms so woudl that be good for 2 dual 2 ohm type r's or not? i hear dthere capable of doing 1200 a piece but its not healthy for em. but would about 800 a piece sound nice? sinc eit does 2000 rms would that be good for em ? |
Silver Member Username: Talon0112 audioque 2.5 145.2 ..., Pa Usa Post Number: 387 Registered: Jun-07 | it will work keep the gain down and youll be fine |
Silver Member Username: ShadeMoxee, Wa U.S. Post Number: 488 Registered: Nov-06 | your R's should take 800rms, just watch ur gains and make sure ur sending a clean signal. congrats on the buy |
Silver Member Username: SomedonniedudeIllinois United States Post Number: 448 Registered: May-07 | If that amp will do 2000wrms @ 2 ohms, then get the dual 2 ohm R's. Then if you ever want to add another type R or two, you will have enough power to do so correctly. (dual 4's will still work just fine tho). |
Silver Member Username: Mike_16Reedsburg, Wisconsin Us Post Number: 716 Registered: Aug-06 | thanx.. and donnie how wil 4 ohms work? if i power those at bridged 1 ohm theyl blow lol, but unless i didnt bridge them btu then there isnt enough power to them so il do dual 2ohm. thanx guys. il try to get pics when i get the stuff. |
Silver Member Username: SomedonniedudeIllinois United States Post Number: 464 Registered: May-07 | What I meant was: If you get 2 dual 2 ohms subs, you can wire them up to 2 ohms on that amp, so you would get 2000 watts from it, 1000 to each sub (which you dont need that much, but its up to you) Then if you were to get 2 more dual 2 ohm subs (4 total), you could wire them up to a 1 ohm load on the amp, getting 3000 watts from the amp, 750 watts to each sub. Also you cannot bridge that amp, its a mono amp. |

Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 4178 Registered: Jul-06 | Use the calculator http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/setgain.asp and enter the amount of watts you want to get from the amp, not necessarily the most it can do. |
