Odd question...

I've got a series of higher end onkyo surround sound speakers, I'd like to use two of them in place of my cars rear speakers - the home onkyo speakers are 110w 8ohm. If, I were to hook the up in place of my rear speakers, is my headunit going to fry due to having an 8ohm load? I wouldn't think so, just curious.

no they won't fry but they'll sound like crap.
they'll get half of the head unit's typical 15 watts per channel. also, they aren't designed for a car cabin, so the response will be thrown off as well.

try looking into the option of bridging your two read outs and wire the 8 ohms in parallel. i would look into bridging before you actually do it because it could quite possibly be a very bad idea.
