Clicking Sound when subs are loud????

I got some new 12 inch subs. When i play them loud i can hear a clicking noise. Another way of describing the sound is as if something was flicking the back of the subwoofer cone. Can someone explain what this sound might be.

need more info on ur system...sounds like ur overpowering ur sub...

what type of subs and amp do u have??

well... here is the thing. I have 2 polk mm2124dvc. They are actually being underpowered. This is they amp i am testing them on: http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/product.php?model=MRP-M850

Maybe your subs are bottoming out. What kind of enclosure are your subs in?

they are in a dual .88 cubic feet sealed enclosure. that is what polk recommends.

IIRC, the tinsels are woven on that sub.

I'm guessing they are bottoming out...or you're clipping the amp.
