DD 9500 on 3kw would absolutely own in SPL as far as single sub systems go. (I know that cause I personally run one). It would also have decent SQ for daily. |

They take 4krms without a hitch if you know how to set your filters properly (don't play them below tuning with a SSF). Most people start having problems with BTL when they give them double the rms without careful tuning and the proper enclosure. I surely wouldn't rule it out. DD has proven itself in the lanes, but for a low tuned ground pounder I'm very pleased with the BTLs (and the fact it's priced hundreds lower than most comparable drivers doesnt hurt either.) |

Honestly the SS XXX can handle a lot more power than the RE XXX but my TC sounds 5200 handled enough current that blew my DD Z1a with out a single hitch! My first 5200 blew because it was a CES show driver and was rigged to show mad excursion under little power and when I gave it some GOOD juice it ovexcureded (sp) and ripped all the tinsels out, lOl. Now I have tried to blow this up and even popped my DD Z1a on music@ 1.2 ohms running 18V but the sub was unharmed, I am in love, lOl. Polo..  |
