Bronze Member Username: AfaiziPost Number: 21 Registered: Sep-06 | I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out with this. I originally had 2 dishes and was receiving Dishnetwork Channels from 110 using Echo 7 plugged into port 1, and 148 using Echo 1.2 plugged into 2. I now setup a third dish so I could receive Bell channels. I set it up using Satellite Finder and have a very healthy signal, and plugged it into port 4, however I'm not getting any signal in my reciever. Is there some software that I need to download onto the receiver before I can start getting Bell Channels? I am using a FLU. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks |

Bronze Member Username: AfaiziPost Number: 22 Registered: Sep-06 | yes i put it to deseqc 4 but still get no signal. what satellite should i be scanning? is there something i need to download to it? |
Gold Member Username: Donnie1973Post Number: 1677 Registered: May-06 | 91 or 82 are the bell sats. No, nothing else to download. u should see signal after u set up the sat in the antenna menu |
Bronze Member Username: AfaiziPost Number: 24 Registered: Sep-06 | I don't get any signal in the antenna menu. I am using an old StarChoice Dish which is horizontally stretched. Can this be the reason why I'm not getting any signal in the antenna menu? |
Gold Member Username: Donnie1973Post Number: 1681 Registered: May-06 | yeah, look at lyngsat.c0m i think u can find which lnb u need |
Bronze Member Username: AfaiziPost Number: 25 Registered: Sep-06 | where can i find what lnb i need? |
Gold Member Username: Donnie1973Post Number: 1683 Registered: May-06 | u need linear... dn lnb's im not sure what ur are |
Bronze Member Username: AfaiziPost Number: 26 Registered: Sep-06 | well this is what my dish looks like: http://www.primefocus.net/dsr315_4c_300_4in1_dish.jpg Is there a picture of a linear lnb so i can compare with mine? |
Bronze Member Username: AfaiziPost Number: 27 Registered: Sep-06 | i am currently just using the lnb that I got with the dish when I originally had StarChoice. Theres 2 lnb's, and they're pretty long cylindrical with circular ends. |
Gold Member Username: Donnie1973Post Number: 1688 Registered: May-06 | well, that is a linear lnb (i think) it should work for u to get 91 or 82. see if u can get it on a different port on the disecq switch. Take one of the others out to test. |
Bronze Member Username: AfaiziPost Number: 28 Registered: Sep-06 | yea i've already tested them out on different ports too, and each time i get no signal. its very strange?? |
Gold Member Username: Donnie1973Post Number: 1690 Registered: May-06 | yeah, that is strange. Maybe the lnb is bad... thats about all i can think |
Bronze Member Username: AfaiziPost Number: 29 Registered: Sep-06 | however if the lnb was bad then why was I getting a signal when I was trying to find the signal using the satellite finder? |
Gold Member Username: Donnie1973Post Number: 1693 Registered: May-06 | what lnb type are u selecting in the antenna set up? try them all on a known good port on ur switch. On each one, u may want to change tp's as u go. Sometimes there arent channels on the default tp for that sat. |
Bronze Member Username: AfaiziPost Number: 30 Registered: Sep-06 | what do you mean by what lnb type im selecting? i go to the antenna setup, choose the Nimiq 1 satellite, change the desesq to 4 and see that there is no signal? what are you suggesting? how do i change my lnb type? Also, how do I change the tp's? |
Gold Member Username: Donnie1973Post Number: 1698 Registered: May-06 | u should be able to change the lnb type standard dishpro universal twin some of these should be in the same place u change the diseqc?? Look around. I am not familliar with that receiver. |
Bronze Member Username: AfaiziPost Number: 31 Registered: Sep-06 | what about the tp's? how do i change those? |
Gold Member Username: Donnie1973Post Number: 1699 Registered: May-06 | im not sure on ur box. U should see tp frequency and a nuber next to it. same place as diseqc and lnb types |
Bronze Member Username: Ds_edmPost Number: 100 Registered: May-06 | it should be circular LNB and set to standard lnb freq. 11250 and lnb power on 22 kh off disq 4 |
Gold Member Username: Donnie1973Post Number: 1700 Registered: May-06 | ds is right. Ur lnb wont work. Sorry, what i was reading... i dint read it all Thanks ds, I kept waiting on someone to come help me. lol |

Bronze Member Username: AfaiziPost Number: 32 Registered: Sep-06 | Can someone tell me what channels I will get once my dish is facing 91W on bell? I tried searching for a listing but was unable to get one. Specifically, do the south asian/ppv channels come on 91w? |
Gold Member Username: Crazy_greekPost Number: 1316 Registered: Jul-06 | Channel list for Nimiq 1 @91.oW http://www.l yngsat.com/packages/expressvu1.html http://www.bell.ca/web/tv/en/all_regions/pdfs/channels/channel_lineup.pdf |
Bronze Member Username: AfaiziPost Number: 34 Registered: Sep-06 | I was finally able to set up my dish properly to get the Bell signal on 91W, however I'm only receiving 108 channels when I do the blind scan. I'm not receiving any PPV channels so I was wondering why this was? How do i get the rest of the channels? Also, I'm getting an error saying Waiting for Picture, so I was wondering where I should put the Bell keys? Is it the same procedure as with DN where you go to parental control, Echostar 2 and plug them in, or is there some other way? |
Bronze Member Username: AfaiziPost Number: 35 Registered: Sep-06 | Why is it that when I'm using both Bell and DN, when I'm watching Bell channels, and then switch to DN channels on 148 I get a message saying thats its scrambled? How can I correct this problem? |
