Bronze Member Username: Drant19TX Post Number: 43 Registered: Aug-07 | 1. what are you trying to power? 2. what is the final ohm you need the power at? |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 3595 Registered: Jul-06 | None of those amps are good. Kenwood sucks and Pioneer are so-so. And if you're powering a sub get a class D amp not a 2 channel amp. |
New member Username: Igor_xxxPost Number: 8 Registered: Sep-07 | What I will be powering is in a debate in the subwoofer forum but it wil be propably pioneer ts-w307 at 4 or 2ohm or kenwood kfc-3011 at 4ohm |
Gold Member Username: 420alldaylongPost Number: 2845 Registered: Sep-06 | Whats budget for amp and sub? What size sub? |
New member Username: Igor_xxxPost Number: 9 Registered: Sep-07 | For the amp 150$ and for the sub 100-150$ the sub can be 10 or 12' |
Bronze Member Username: Igor_xxxPost Number: 11 Registered: Sep-07 | And I forget to ask, what do you think about Blaupunkt amps and subs?are they good? |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 3617 Registered: Jul-06 | Nope Since your limited to specific brands, look for a mono Pioneer amp. |
Bronze Member Username: Igor_xxxPost Number: 13 Registered: Sep-07 | OK guys from opinions i understanded that i need class D monoblock amp because i plann to run 1 sub. can somebody tell me what do you think about sony xplod because i saw this in a local store and it wasn't very expensive, around 130$ http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5027_Sony+XM-SD61X.html# |
Bronze Member Username: Drant19TX Post Number: 46 Registered: Aug-07 | sony = cheap...get the pioneer sub. i have 2 of the older models and they sound good. if you get the dual4ohm model then get a mono amp that puts out about 300-500rms in 2 ohms |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 3629 Registered: Jul-06 | Sony is one of the absolute worst brands in car audio |
Bronze Member Username: Igor_xxxPost Number: 14 Registered: Sep-07 | that's good to know.so can you make your sugestions which amp should i get?i dont know should i take the kenwood kac-8103d because i heard it today in a local shop with kenwood kfc-w3514dvc at 2ohm and let me tell you it really shaked the windows at the store and the amp+sub=300$.i mean for that price can i ask for more. |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 3640 Registered: Jul-06 | Kenwood's quality is complete crap, they fail within 1 year or so of use usually List all the brands you have access to for amps and I'll tell you which ones are wother considering |
Bronze Member Username: Drant19TX Post Number: 51 Registered: Aug-07 | wheres that good/bad list that shows all the brands? |

Bronze Member Username: Igor_xxxPost Number: 15 Registered: Sep-07 | Most availible brands here are JBL,kenwood, pioneer, alpine, sony, blaupunkt(the GTA series) but alpine and JBl are above 200$ so my only choice is pioneer or kenwood for the money and the power.i can get JBL or Alpine but they wont be very powerful beacuse of the money i have |
Bronze Member Username: Igor_xxxPost Number: 16 Registered: Sep-07 | here is one good site at my place www.autoland.com.mk tell me what you think |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 3655 Registered: Jul-06 | JBL, Alpine = good Pioneer = ok Kenwood, Sony, Blaupunkt = bad |
Bronze Member Username: Igor_xxxPost Number: 17 Registered: Sep-07 | OK, I need this opinion from you guys. What would you buy, a quality amp and sub but not very powerful (around 150-200rms) or something like kenwood and the others cheap amps and subs but powerful(300-500rms)?because this is my current situation and honetsly I dont know what to do.will the quality ones be better then the others(the cheaper)? |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 3659 Registered: Jul-06 | If you buy a low quality amp there's a good chance it will blow within a year or so of use, then you'll be paying more to replace it than if you bought something good to begin with. So buy something good. I would recommend saving more money until you can get something with decent power though. |
Bronze Member Username: Igor_xxxPost Number: 18 Registered: Sep-07 | Yeah you are right I will wait one or two months and buy something more powerful from JBL or Alpine but what can you tell me about the sound quality of the JBL subs and are they worth the money? |
Gold Member Username: Nd4spd18Northwest PA Post Number: 3676 Registered: Jul-06 | JBL subs are good. The only ones I've actually heard are the GTIs and they sounded very good. |
Bronze Member Username: Igor_xxxPost Number: 19 Registered: Sep-07 | Thanks guys very much for the help and that you told me not to waist my money on something like kenwood and the others cheap amps and subs.I will by something from the JBL GTO series.thanks |
